An important aspect of the film is that characters from both sides of the yard trespass to each other´s side. As described previously, Lisa and Stella go to the yard to discover what is in the box Throwald burry and this way Lisa becomes part of Jefferies´ fantasy. On the other hand, Thorwald at the end goes to Jeff´s apartment, it could be said that he “goes out of the screen” is materialized in reality. Thorwald assaults Jefferies; he is aggressive and tries to kill him (Stam & Pearson, 203). This could show the aggressive way in which art and the story shocks the audience by not only showing a theme about murder but by leading into a behavior that in real life wouldn´t be performed such as spying on other people, but at the end of the film…
Consider the role of television in the film; and how it used in society. What role does it play in this culture of the film and why is it preferred to reading? Usually, the parlor walls contain large wall-sized television screens. They put a screen that is as large as the wall in a particular room, and if they can get all four walls of a room covered in television screens, then you have a total and complete interactive and entertainment package. At the beginning of the movie, Mildred and Montag have three T.V. walls in their "parlor" or living room, and Mildred is hinting around to Montag that she wants yet another one. However, the cost for a T.V. wall that is exorbitant it is nearly a third of Montag's yearly salary, which makes it so expensive; so it is a hard decision to make for him and his wife.…
In the independent romantic comedy, (500) Days of Summer starring, Joseph Godwin –Lewitt and Zoey Deschanel (as Summer) was released in 2009. Even trying to win Summer back before she gets married. Director Tommy Wirkola also directed “Dead Snow” which should serve as the leader in the category of Nazi Zombie movie. “Dead Snow 2: Red vs. Dead” picks up the story immediately after the events in the first film. Fans of the earlier film will surly enjoy the sequel. The mood in the two films however I found quite different. “Dead Snow” is very traditional with straight up Zombie disaster elements, moody and terrifying with a few humorous elements. “Dead Snow 2” on the other hand we consider more of a comedy within the confines of a Zombie movie.…
In the movie “ Cool Runnings”, the director mixes all different emotions with a storyline proving you can do anything that you put your mind to. The movie begins with Olympic hopeful Derice, running across Jamaica. He is doing this because he is training for the 1988 Olympic Games, and hopes to be a gold-medal winner just like his father was.. Then later on in the day, it’s race time. He’s confident he can represent Jamaica because he has been training for a long time for it. The whole country comes to watch the Olympic hopefuls compete in hope to represent the country . Derice and all the other hopefuls line up for the race, and about halfway through, one of the runners trips and also trips Derice and another contestant who surely would have…
These zombies gnaw and pounce as they sniff the air for any human flesh. They pound doors and windows and get agitated once confronted with 10-foot cyclone fences. Once they are shot in the head, they die. Basically that is it on the zombie’s side of view because we never get to know what they are thinking. One of the most exhilarating pleasures of this movie is the script flipping. This is definitely a twist on the century’s most popular horror. “Warm Bodies” is a nicely directed and well-placed terrific love story with a lot of…

The moment little human beings start exploring the world, digging into knowledge, is when a successful mindset should be inputted into a child. At that age a child is full of innocence with almost the same mindset as anyone his/her age, almost everyone is equal and given the pathway to be successful. So what changes them as they get older? See a person's mindset is developed over time as they grow older but the way they see themselves, compare themselves to others, and what they believe they can accomplish all influence whether or not they will be as successful as they possibly can but it all starts from childhood. In a documentary, “Mad Hot Ballroom”, New York City fifth graders from different backgrounds, schools, ethnicity, wealth, etc,…
Mother in turn serves her masters, the company, Wayland-Yutani, a corporate entity with an agenda that supersedes the morality of its crew. As Mother’s computer read out reveals Roger Luckhurst writes…
The zombies in the film are amazing, which I would expect now knowing the breadth and style of Tom Savini's work. Though the advanced decay seen on some the dead make me wonder, how recently the dead are that are returning to life. The advanced makeup effects and... well budget, do a lot for this film. My favorite shot of a zombie is in the beginning when the burial cloths fall off one revealing the wounds from an autopsy. It's a great shot that relies on minimal make-up and effects for maximum effect.…
In Warm Bodies the main character R has many adjectives that describe him and one…
In the two movies of the week Some Like it Hot by Billy Wilder and My Week with Marilyn by Simon Curtis The idea of the gaze was presented heavily in many scenes in both movies. Marilyn Monroe is well known for playing the role of the sexy, erotic goddess that attract both the attention of men and women, audience and cast. Marilyn Monroe was portrayed in both movies as a character that directors apply the idea of selective use on, In other words she was selected to play certain characters and personas and had to hide the other traits and not show them on camera. To clarify Marilyn was selected to play the role of the girl that is searching for the millionaire who she will marry and will change her life forever, which is also related to the idea of the american dream. In addition she was selected as a star in many movies for…
