The movie is performed by excellent actors who truly make the film. Will Smith, a Hollywood action superstar, plays in this very dramatic movie with his real-life son-Jaden Smith. It is, in my view, the greatest acting ever in his famous career. Thus, I personally think that one of this film’s successes is the perfect cast. Through their expression and their eyes, people can feel and experience every single moment of the characters.
Another thing I love most is the script, which couldn’t have been more fascinating. The movie centers in Christ’s struggle to get by and gain a better life for his son, depicting a mounting pile of obstacles he overcomes to become an amazing stockbroker from just an unqualified salesman. The plot is fairly spectacular with regard to how it steadily takes the audience to the climax after so many times the main character is knocked down by continuous defeat.
This emotional story almost tears at my heart, and I believe that this film, with a wonderful lesson of family values, can make any viewers not be able to take their eyes off the screen, waiting for what will happen in the end. As well, I extremely appreciate the way in which the movie subtly glorifies thing called “American Spirit”, through the portrait of a man stuck in poverty, not surrendering to the fate but keeping chasing his dreams.
The pursuit of Happiness is truly an inspirational masterpiece. If you’re looking for something which can warm the cockles of your heart, this film, with no doubt, is the one for you!

The Pursuit of Happyness by Chris Gardner and Quincy Troupe entails the life story of Christopher Gardner. Like other books that movies are made from, The Pursuit of Happyness movie was very different than the book. In the movie, Gardner starts out in his late twenties; he lives with his wife, Linda, and his son Chris Gardner Jr., who was five-years-old at the beginning of the movie. The book starts out very differently; Gardner is just three-years-old and living in a foster home (Gardner and Troupe 15-16). By the end of the book, Gardner Jr. is barely four-years-old. The major difference between the book and the movie is that Gardner experiences physical, mental, and sexual abuse.…

The Pursuit of Happyness stars Will Smith as Chris Gardner and shows his struggle as a single father facing homelessness yet striving to create a better life for his family. While it could be described as a Black man’s struggle, the movie manages to leave that as a secondary factor rather than the main source of conflict. Both the generosity and the discrimination he experiences at the hands of whites around him are portrayed, as well as, the reality that poverty has no color boundaries. People of all ethnicities are shown in impoverished scenes: in homeless shelters and food kitchens. His cultural interaction includes Asian Americans as well and depicts the cultural misunderstandings and language barriers experienced between them.…

This movie appealed to me because of the plot with God being mad at humanity and that one soul could save everyone. It shows me that even though there are bad people in the world do not just get mad and say I do not care because there is still good people out there. In fact one of my favorite quotes from the movie was when Jeep asked the angel Michael “why didn’t you lose faith,” he said “I have watched you people wage in war but in the midst of all this darkness, I see some people who will not give up even though they know all hope is lost.” He finishes by saying “some realizes that being lost is so close to being found.” I chose that quote as my favorite because it is so true. For example if you look at our history, you will notice that when there is a decline there is always an increase.…
