ABSTRACT
Teaching culture has been discussed in numerous studies of former researchers since it is very important to include culture in English curricula. However, most of the studies were only aimed to explain how the understanding of culture affects English learning while it is also necessary to investigate what about culture should be taught and how to teach culture effectively. Therefore, with the concerns of the same issue in Vietnam context, the research was conducted in the hope to give reasonable answers to the two questions about teaching culture: what aspects of culture should be taught in English classes?, and “how to teach culture effectively?”. Additionally, the research also aimed to give a suggestion on how to improve the culture teaching in Vietnam. Through a survey, the results have not only supported the previous study, but they also shed a new light on teaching culture in Vietnam.
