The Final Project: Strategic Plan
Abstract
Strategic planning is a fundamental framework that engenders growth of every organization; it provides the procedures necessary that would enable an organization to achieve its mandate, mission and vision of success, and thereby providing public value. This final project identifies and analysis the characteristics of strategic planning and implementation processes upon which strategic planning initiatives are anchored. The Food and Agricultural Organization (FAO) of the United Nations is a selected final project organization and is used for cases application in fulfillment of the tasks assigned. This organization is bedridden with enormous challenges and the application of strategic issues engagements; efforts are that most desire game plans would emerge to navigate the organization to success.
A succinct SWOT(C) analysis is examined with key strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats highlighted herein. Also, stakeholder analysis is benchmarked thereby deriving appropriate approaches that best address stakeholders’ support and buy-in at all levels of strategic engagements of the organization.
Finally, suggestions are put forth intended to harness the strategic planning processes, which include planning and implementation perimeters. The paper further teases out a brief vision statement that underscores the desire state-of-being for the Food and Agriculture Organization of the UN.
1. The Organization
The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) is a non-profit organization established October 16, 1945. It has as its mandate to lead international efforts aimed at improving nutrition, increase agricultural productivity, raise the standard of living of rural populations and contribute to global economic growth. Towards this end, FAO has been successful in providing support to member countries
