My dissertation is devoted to the overall study of impact cultural heritage tourism in Seam Reap, Cambodia. It is because Cambodia is rich of the cultural and historical heritage sites, when Angkor Wat was listed in World heritage site by UNESCO the tourism industry grows rapidly in the Seam Reap especially the region with historical sites such as temples. The conservation and preservation effort by the relevant sectors also included in the study as it is vital for the future planning and developments. Some of the better ways to protect and control the impacts of the cultural heritage tourism in Cambodia suggested by the local communities are being preview in the study so that the researcher can suggest a most essential method to minimize, overcome and prevent the negative impact of cultural heritage tourism.
1.1 Statement of Problem
The statement of problem of this study is the impacts of the cultural heritage tourism in Seam Reap, Cambodia. The impacts include both positive and negative impacts toward the local communities and the stakeholder. To further determine the aspect of the impact of the cultural heritage tourism, the researcher will categorize the impact into social aspect, cultural aspect and economic aspect.
1.2 Aim of research
The main of the research is to identify the reality and fact which is out of view and has not yet been explored as yet. In this study, the researcher emphasis on impacts arises from the growth of cultural heritage tourism in Seam Reap, Cambodia. The rapid growth of tourism industry in Seam Reap, Cambodia resulted from the heritage tourism is one of the fact that can be observed by the world. However the impacts of the growth are never discovered by the people. The population of tourists increase rapidly that reach certain limit of the carrying capacity of the destination will gradually causes impact either positively or negatively to the local communities and so as the destination itself either.
