1.0 INTRODUCTION 1.1 Topic and background of the study
Tourism is one of the biggest industries in the world which contribute to the growth of the economic in some of the country. According to Sindiga (1999) tourism is used as a development strategy due to its economic effects such as generating foreign exchange, creating employment and stimulating local economies. The tourism activities also would cause direct and indirect pressures on species and habitats and thereby threatens their conservation (“Bio Intelligence Service”, 2007). However, the growing of tourism activities at nature places will create a distraction to the habitats and their indigenous cultures. Some of the attraction places should have the carrying capacity in order to control the amount of tourist at a time. If the amount of tourist at a time is not controlled, this will be a stressful situation to wildlife at that place. The attitudes of some tourist will be a distraction such as noise, taking pictures or littering. It is important to a nature attraction places to practice a sustainable tourism.

Seeing on how the tourism activities will affect the nature habitats places, this research paper will discuss about the effect of tourist arrival to firefly habitats at Kg. Kuantan, Selangor. Firefly is the species that is becoming extinct nowadays. Some excerpt from Ricky Soo (2008) blog stated that the fireflies colony are depleting.
