First Fight
Fighting can be for a reason or it can be just because someone is so stupid they would rather fight than resolve the problem. I remember my first fight like it was just yesterday. I was in grade school, 5th grade to be exact. I was walking to the gym. It was a very hot timid day. The sun was beaming down real heavy. You could possibly have had a heat stroke. As I was walking down the sidewalk reading my library book, I accidentally bumped into this girl. I apologized but I guess that wasn’t good enough because she just started snapping for no reason at all. Boy was I scared. My heart was beating so fast that I thought I was going to have a heart attack. I have always had a fear about fighting, but I guess in this case I didn’t have a choice because she slapped me. I felt like a thousand knives had hit me in my face. Before I knew it all I saw was black. My eyes were shut really tight that I couldn’t see anything nor did I remember anything. It was like I blanked out. I was a very shy quite person, so I didn’t know what to do when it was time to fight. All I remember is that I was feeling like Trevor Berbicks did when Mike Tyson knocked him out. I was very embarrassed, too ashamed to even look up. I didn’t know if I had won or if even a win was determined.
Now I don’t know what comes to your mind when you hear the word “fight”, but when I finally came back to reality everybody and they mama was surrounded around me. Asking me questions like was I okay, what happened, and so more. I was standing there like really are you really asking me these questions, and they just seen me pick myself up off the ground. After all the commotion settled the down and we remain to our classes, the principal called us both to the office. I was so petrified that I called my mother to come get me. As I walked in the office the principal called me in first to come talk to him. As scared as I was I just started crying. You can call me a big baby because that’s exactly what I was a big

The story started when one night I snuck out of my house to go to a party, as a result, that night I slept over at a friend’s house and found a ride home the next morning. When the car pulled into the driveway the morning after, I thanked the driver and walked up to my front porch with a sly smile to greet my obviously frustrated parents. As my mom ushered me to sit down on one of the chairs on our front porch, I know that nothing good is going to…

I aimed for the smallest Soc's nose, and when I made contact blood poured out in a steady stream of red as he cursed. He looked to be about fourteen, while the rest were at least seniors, so that got him distracted for a minute. Before I could throw another punch I felt a knee in my stomach and I thought I might puke. When I leaned forward with my hand on my stomach, I felt hits all over the back of my head and my head face. I tried to block, but I was getting real dizzy.…

It was the middle of an away sophomore baseball game against DeWitt. My brother, Keegan, was up to bat. The pitch came, he swung and down he went. The baseball came off his bat and drilled him in the left eye. There was only one parent there, one of Keegan’s teammate’s dad. He drove Keegan to the hospital and called my parents. At the time, I was at a softball game working the scoreboard for the varsity West Delaware Hawks team. My mom called to tell me my grandma would pick me up when I was done and that her and my dad were on their way to the Iowa City hospital. My dad was at work at the time and met my mom there. They would explain more later. After they got down there and I got home with my sisters, I called my mom. She gave me an explanation…

I remember the night my dad left like it was yesterday, and I don’t think I will ever forget. I don’t remember what exactly it was that made him so mad but I’m sure my sister and I were fighting like sisters do. My only really vivid memory of that night was my dad hitting me so hard he left bruise marks on my backside. I could hear my mom and dad fighting so I knew my mom saved me again. Then my dad got really mad at her and he grabbed her by the shoulders and shoved her into the pantry door so hard that both my mom and the pantry door came crashing to the floor. When I got up for school the next morning my dad was gone. Some children aren’t as lucky though and Child Protective Services has to remove them from a bad situation.…

When reading this book, I truley learned the history and truth behind the United States Marine Corps. As a whole, the Marine Corps had a very long journey in the beginning. We have overcame so many obstacles and struggles along the way, and it has only made us stronger as a whole "team". As we began to learn to work together as a team, we started to prove ourselves. General Krulak shared secret behind-the-scenes information on new assult vehicles that were needed to attack on enemy beaches. These vehicles provided new technology for our Marine Corps. General Krulak convinced an admiral to board one of the demonstration vehicles. Krulak ended up attacking a coral reef and knocking the vehicle off track. The admiral was already enraged by taking up time to try and give this demonstration veicle a chance to prove his thoughts wrong. Admiral ended up jumping into the knee deep water and was sent back out to his ship shortly after. Later after reading, I came to find out the obstacles we had to overcome with making and carrying out actions with our bombs in specific weather conditions. The Marine Corps are not always given many materials to make "weapons" with. We were taught and coached on how to make do with what was given to us. We learned to innovate and try new things. We had to learn and abide by the term of being "frugal" with our belongings. We had to experiment and never give up. We had to never lose hope or give in. After a while of learning to use our stock wisely, we were able to invent new weapons. Towards the end of my reading, I started to relate to the book, thinking of my actions in my everyday lifestyle. It talks about the Marine Corps relationship with the public and how people kind of "percieve" the Marine Corps. As a Marine, I know that we uphold one of the highest images and are always know to be ready for anything, and because we have been molded and shaped into that type of team, it has withheld that image for the…

My mom never screamed at me before and when she screamed he blamed me for letting him go outside without his permission. One sunny day, we were remodeling the living room so it can be more babyproof now that my brother was taller and could walk and run perfectly. We left the door open because it was too cold in the living room. We were moving the couch as we told Andres to move over so we don’t locate the couch on his feet. We were so busy moving the furniture that we totally forgot the baby of the family was walking towards the door. When we put the couch in our desired spot, we noticed Andres walking toward the street. We ran after him as quickly as we could as we saw a car moving in Andres’s direction. My dad sprinted like a track and field athlete towards his baby and caught him right in time. All of a sudden, my mom turned to me and blamed me for this incident. I felt like my side of the story wasn’t considered when I explained she told me to help her with the couch and it was really Andres’s fault. She couldn’t believe I was blaming a baby so she sent me to my room. I ran to my room crying, feeling as if Andres was the favorite child and I wished that I never had a…

She told me to follow her to the office. We arrived to the office and she told me to have a seat. I saw her head to her desk and started dialing the phone to call someone. What killed me was because she called my mother and, she told my mother that she was writing expulsion papers. I had never been in trouble before so I was kind of nervous. I was afraid to see what my mom said about it. Long story short I got expelled in sixth grade behind the wrong crowd doing the wrong things. I already knew that wasn’t the path that I wanted to take so I had to change my plan up. I decided to go stay in New York with my cousin for a while. I went to New York and to be honest I enjoyed it.…

While I was waiting, I looked around, and from the window, the sky became darker and darker as the cloud covered the last sunlight. I couldn’t breathe. In about twenty minutes, most parents were there. Then the head teacher started to talk about how seriously we did. She told in front of all these people: “she was the one who cheated teachers and brought her friends out of school. We teachers are responsible for your children’s safety in the school. But who is responsible for that once they are out? Jasmine, can you?” I was shocked. I did not think about that the teacher would blame me for all of this. Everyone in the office was staring at me, and my parents as well. I was ashamed, so ashamed that I wanted to hide, and I can’t stop my tears out. The teacher continued and talked to all of students: “I believed you because you are fifth grade. I thought you are old enough to distinguish right or wrong. But now, I am really disappointed at you guys.” We were still in elementary school, and we were so young to comfort ourselves in this situation. Most of the girls in our group began to sob like me.…

It had been a crazy morning as I ran all over my house trying to find my jacket and boots. My mom had been admitted into the hospital that morning for a massive headache and all I could think about was whether or not she would be okay. I took her to the emergency room that day before so going to class was the last thing on my mind. My father and sister had agreed to stay with her till I ended class so I was more at ease knowing she wouldn’t be alone. After running all over my house looking for my things I quickly gathered myself to make my train. I finally got to Penn Station with four minutes to spare. I quickly walked to where the rest of my class was as we waited for instructions to where we would…

That’s the number one thing on my list that I do not and will not tolerate. If you have an issue that you feel the need to fight, keep it out of school and off of school grounds. If you fight in school, you will have outside suspension for 5 days and in school suspension for 5 days and parent will be contacted. You could be arrested and having to go to court for fighting in school. When you are fully done with your suspension, you will attended back to school and process back to work. If you continue to keep the madness up with more drama or trying to fight again, you will be expelled from Morgan Park High School, and put either into the closet alternative or another…

Sixth grade, the first year in the new middle school building. It was about the third week into school and a teacher came up to me and asked me to watch over this kid named Justin. (He was different from everyone else, he had a birth-defect.) I said sure, why not, he seems to be nice. He only had one friend, and that one friend I wouldn't say was a good one. Later that week I was called into the disciplinarian's office, her name was Mrs. Landry. She was the seventh grade Social Studies teacher. So wanted me to tell her everything that happened, I didn't what to tell her,…

In a moment I knew. I was the one who was wrong. It wasn’t mom. It wasn’t mom in the least. It was all me. I understood being right wasn’t worth it at all; I could have been right but I was wrong. I was wrong because I thought it was worth it to be right. If I had given up the fight this moment wouldn’t be happening. I glanced over the scene once more. Taking everything in, I felt a tear dripping down my face so slowly. I wanted to put the event in reverse but I knew it was impossible.…
