In the beginning of this essay, Rose describes how his teachers treated him in his early years of high school. Rose's choice of phraseology when characterizing his teachers is very harsh. In one short paragraph it shows how much he really was abused. Everything from verbal to physical abuse really left an impact on his life.…

“When you go for an interview you put your best clothes on. Employers are affected by first impressions, but so are you as a teacher. We do this because we want to know how to behave towards a person and how we can expect them to behave towards us. It would of course be fairer to suspend judgement, but few of us manage this in practise”. (Petty G 2009)…

With “Tells illustrative story” I rated a 10 because a lot of the times she will give very descriptive details of a story. “Recalls Personal Experience” I gave a 1 because Mrs. Valentine doesn’t really tell her own personal experiences to the class. “Relates to past learning I said a 10 because sometimes she will go back and ask the children if they remember doing this before with another lesson. “Poses Problem” I gave a 10 because she will challenge her students and see if they’re able to figure it out themselves. “Compare and Contrasts” I rated a 10 because Mrs. Valentine will compare certain things and see if the children understands or…

In “Sure thing”, a play written by David Ives, the author shows how meeting someone can have different impressions based on conversation. Unfortunately, people usually judge each other based on what they see outside. It's never good to hide who is your true self, but based on modern world situations, sometimes it is better to be a better version of yourself. All humans like to judge others. They critique looks, financial situation and even favorite hobbies. The wrong clothes or certain type of makeup turns them away without even trying to find out the other’s person inner soul. Based on certain answers, the person can change his or her first opinion,…

Attending elementary school is one of the most preceptive moments of a child's life. By both teachers and students, I was considered a “teachers pet.” A majority of my teachers had always chosen me as a classroom helper or as a positive behavioral example for the rest of the classmates to mimic. My second grade teacher, Mrs.Minor disliked my goody-two-shoes attitude, and what seemed purposely at the time, belittled me. Mrs.Minor yelled at me for correcting her or for finishing my work too quickly. she allowed me to feel inferior. I was frightened of her and this made me feel awful about my education, myself and especially her. I was so afraid to go to school because of her words and attitude towards me that my mother had to volunteer in my class so that I would go back. This memory of Mrs.Minor has been embedded in my mind until this day, because of her attitude I am more shy and quite in school. This is a clear example of how teachers can affect a child's education.…

I have chosen to read and write about “My Favorite Teacher” by Thomas L. Friedman. Teachers are on top of the list when it comes to my biggest influencers. They are the ones I spent most of my childhood with and whom I learned the most from. Friedman’s essay is relatable in his writing of a teacher's impact on his life.…

    Teacher of Year Essay

First I want to tell you with whom I honor, with whom I have, learned to respect, and who deserve the outmost admirations. The teachers I am talking about work hard to do a great job, because, above all, it is a kind of responsibility so to speak towards their students and relevantly toward themselves. I have had several teachers in my years as a student both in the primary and secondary schools among which there were only few whom I felt to fit the description above, maybe most of them were good in their own way, but one cannot be sufficient in all ways or I may also have misunderstood them. However, the teacher that I chose as deserving of the “My Favorite Teacher” earned this title due to the care she showed to each of her students through her teaching, personality, and the all the fun had in her class is Ms. Fleming my writing teacher. Ms. Fleming is an open minded, caring person who seemed to love what she is doing. Ms. Fleming is more than a teacher to me; she is a person you could go to with a problem and she would try and help you find the answer. She would help you, but expected you to put the work into finding out for yourself how to do something. She always came across as someone who cared about every student as if they were her “children”. Ms. Fleming is like a book that gives you the right information that would help you on getting a six on the FCAT writing. About 95% of her student’s agree that Ms. Fleming spent each day preparing us for the FCAT writing in thirteen days. The first time I walked into the classroom I notice a flaming red headed teacher sitting down. I thought that she would be a boring, and mean teacher giving her student’s a lot of homework and essays to write. Every word that comes out of her mouth sounds like music to my brain. When it comes to teaching she doesn’t let out a lot of stress, most of the stress comes from whether or not her student’s would receive a four or higher on the FCAT writing. When I’m in class Ms. Fleming have…

What I noticed about the first teachers was that she showed a lot of respect to her students and I think this is why her students showed her a great amount of respect back. Event thought she had complete authority over the students she still respected them as if she did not. Another effective trait I admired about her was that instead of teaching and giving orders to the students she actually got involved and participated in the aerobic with the girls. This is very effective because I think I motivates the children to participate more in class when they see their teacher involved.…

In school, she had to face the students that would bully her and the teachers that didn’t take her seriously. She was a brilliant woman, but she learned through pictures, and it was hard for her to grasp concepts such as French and algebra. During her masters' thesis, she had to deal with blatant sexism, rude behavior from the workers, and having to sneak in and out of the ranch because women weren’t supposed to be there. When she was proposing her cattle herding methods, she kept getting shot down because she "didn’t have enough experience" and she "didn’t know what she was talking about". They felt that it was too much money and too slow to do it her way, and she really had to fight to get…
