The skills acquired stimulate self-confidence and the ability to look at a problem from many peoples perspective. The children slowly start to take greater responsibility for their own learning. The Fishbowl is a very clever way of generating a peaceful environment in which children can hold a discussion, this proves especially useful when dealing with sometimes controversial issues such as race, culture or religion. Children regularly exposed to the points of views of others are more likely to broaden their own and in working towards common goals children will form stronger bonds. In learning the skills required to communicate children gain a strong and steady footing much needed throughout their years at school, university or college, and then in the work place.
