The Management Practices of the Zaxby’s Franchise

Ashford University The management of organizations consists of five main components which include planning, leading, organizing, staffing, and controlling. These five main components all are very important to the success of a business. A business would initially fail if one or more of these five functions were not properly operable. Moreover, the Zaxby’s company is a successful franchise company because it has made all five functions operable and usable. To be a successful business or company, a company must have a vision for the future, it must know exactly what type of people to do business with, and the company must know how to stay sufficient during the times in which the company can be under pressure due to the economy. All of these elements relate to the five functions of management. The Zaxby’s franchise is a successful franchise because it knows how to plan effectively. The planning process had to start with the founder, and/or the chief executive officer of Zaxby’s and move down to each and every manager. The chief executive officer, and all of the managers had to and still have the make key and important decisions about the future and key goals for the company, which also relates to strategic planning. Without strategic planning, the Zaxby’s company would not be successful. One way that Zaxby’s has contributed to strategic planning is by doing business on Sundays, juxtaposed to one of its competitors, “Chick-Fil-A.” This notion of strategic planning has allowed their business to grow and has also allowed the company to gain more customers, including some of Chick-Fil-A’s customers. The food items that Zaxby’s has decided to put on their menu is a critical part of the function of planning. Zaxby’s food items are the initial component of how the company makes its money.
