Five Ways to Save Our Environment
FIVE WAYS TO SAVE OUR ENVIRONMENT

We can all make a difference when it comes to helping save the environment. Global warming and all the other environmental issues we are facing took some time to build up and to get our of these messes it is going take a lot of work, but this doesn’t mean we should get discouraged because it’s more than the big things that are going to make the difference, it’s the little things that make the biggest impact.
Here are some simple changes you can make in your everyday life to help the planet recover from the wounds we have inflicted upon it:
1: Walk sometimes. You don’t need to take your car everywhere you go. If your job is in walking distance, or you’re able to ride a bike to get there, then do it. Not only are you helping to save the planet, you’re exercising and helping yourself stay fit. Most big cities that have the worst traffic jams also have bike paths and walking trails for pedestrians. You’d be surprised how much more convenient they were for you.
2: Pick it up! People litter, that’s just the way it is. You’ll see plastic bottles, cigarette packs, etc, all lying on the ground. It wouldn’t hurt or inconvenience you at all to pick them up as you walk by. If you see a plastic bag blowing by you, grab it and put it in the nearest trashcan. Most places have recycling bins set up all over. Sure, it’s not your fault that some people just don’t care. But you do! Show you care by being good to your Mother Earth.
3: Use less energy in your home. Whether you work from home or just like to lounge around and watch TV, there are all sorts of ways you can conserve energy in your home and do your part to help the world. If you’re on the computer, you don’t need any lights on. The monitor provides enough light. And if not, open the shades to let the sun in.
4: Use recycled paper. There's no need to use virgin paper for things like computer printing, envelopes, paper towels, toilet paper or tissues; the best part is that it's all

There are endless ways I could be more sustainable. The obvious would be to install solar panels and water tanks but everybody has already heard of that, so I thought up of some that not many people have thought of. Firstly, I can be more sustainable by taking four minute showers. This will save about 9.5 litres per minute. In addition to this, you also save the energy required to heat that water to shower temperature. Another way I can be sustainable is turning off the lights after leaving a room. Electric lights left on needlessly waste energy and, because I don’t have solar panels, this is burning fossil fuels that pollute the air. Finally I will ride my bike or walk on the bike paths to places close to me such as my dance school. This will ease traffic congestion, keep me healthy and reduce air pollution caused by car…

If we don’t do anything about this soon, the planet we call home could turn to chaos. If we fund money and time into helping our environment and various climates by being more energy efficient, we can make a difference. I urge you to spend just a little more time and money into helping slow global warming down by conserving water, planting more trees, recycling and reducing your waste. Also, scale down on your use of fossil fuels and other malignant toxins that are heating our atmosphere. By doing this, we will be able to bring climate change to an…

In "Where Are All the Dentists," Kristen Lewis states that there aren't enough dentists in rural areas, but that can be fixed. Across America, there are many less populated areas. These areas are known as "dental deserts" since they have limited access to dentists. Not only do dentists cost a lot, but they also are not located near these "dental deserts". Some dentists have decided to help people in these areas by creating mobile clinics. They go around America on busses and help people in rural areas by fixing their teeth for little or no…

By allowing our planet to grow in a healthier, cleaner, and natural way, we will overcome global warming and it will be easier for us all to take care of our planet. Helping to keep our planet clean such as using less water in homes, recycling paper products, glass, aluminum, and oil, and also avoiding certain harmful products can result in lowering our man-made greenhouse gases. “According to the Energy Information Administration, the United States, China, Russia, Japan, and India together account for 54% of the world’s total carbon dioxide emissions.” (Source E) Since this represents the largest share of man-made greenhouse gases, we all should try these simple tasks to help our economy, and altogether our planet.…

Something else to consider is catching the school bus. Even though many teens today can’t wait to drive, the National Academies of Science and Engineering says the buses are not only a lot safer, they are also more fuel efficient than cars, saving gas and lowering emissions that cause global warming. And, if you live close enough to your destination, try walking or biking. It’s not only healthy for the environment; it’s healthy for you, too.…

Wouldn’t it be great to be able to do something about the mess we are in? We all agree that there are problems, and we all want to do something to change our world. But where do we begin? Well, part of the problem is that we are focused on the wrong problems in the first place! We see that something is wrong but fail to do anything about it; it’s like listening to what someone says but not hearing what is being said. According to Dr Leonard Nurse, Senior lecturer at the Centre for Resource Management and Environmental Studies in Barbados, people care more about themselves than their neighbor and in this way we are not concerned about what is happening in our environment until it affects us directly. So firstly we have to change our hearts and start caring about what happens in OUR environment, whether it concerns us or not, because one day it will, next we have to change our lives to forgive and in forgiving receive joy, and by doing this one day to change the world!…

Small Steps - There are small steps being taken. We still use a vast number of plastic bags, and in spite of anti-littering campaigns, and our best intentions, too many of them find their way into places they really don't belong. Many retailers are encouraging shoppers to bring their own bags, usually canvas bags, which will last many years and don't tend to be discarded. Some stores even sell these bags, usually…
