Flashbacks In Touching Spirit Bear

Touching Spirit Bear is an breath-taking and action-packed story about a boy named Cole who has done bad things in his life so he has to spend a year on an island in Alaska. I think the flashbacks have to be the most important story element. The book uses lots of flashbacks to get people to know a lot about Cole’s past.

The flashbacks are important because at the beginning of the story he is going to the island and during the following chapters it has flashbacks that explain and tell the reasons and explanations of why he is going to the island in the first place. Also, flashbacks show Cole’s emotions and childhood. He had trouble in the future because he had lots of trouble in his childhood.
