Nursing is a job we would consider a very selfless job. It’s a job that requires you to be at your best at every moment because someone’s life or well-being is depending on you. Long shifts may get you tired, you may not have a lunch break because you are working non-stop but you could care less. All you care about is impacting the lives of others. You are constantly putting others before yourself. Well in this case Florence Nightingale was the person who did just that. Florence Nightingale was born on May 12 in the year of 1820 in Florence Italy. Her parents named her after the Italian cities in Italy. In her early teens Florence discovered that she wanted to become a nurse not just because she wanted to do it, but the simple fact that she had got a “calling from God” to do God’s work. Florence’s parents did not want her to pursue the career in being a nurse because they did not make as much during those days.
