Flowchart Assignment
OPS 571

This assignment goal is to spend less time on a process that is performed daily. In addition, a suitable flowchart will be planned and designed. Process design factors will be discussed in addition to choosing one metric to measure the process. There are many thing in life that are done daily that we would love to spend less time doing. A flowchart is a helpful implement as it comes to evaluating and regulating time and work processes. So you will see the process in a form of a flowchart. The metric that will be used is time, from the minute when I wake up until the minute I walk out the door. This processes usually take about three hours to do, between waking up, picking out my clothes, brushing my teeth, showering, drying my hair, getting dressed, making breakfast, eating breakfast, and leaving the house. I normally try to get up early so I can get myself together to start my day. I believe and know that there is a faster way to finish my daily tasks. From the time my alarm goes off until the minute I get out of bed is usually thirty minutes because I hit the snooze button about three times. Once I essentially drag myself out of bed, I start by picking out my outfit for the day, sometimes I pick them out quickly and sometimes it takes me up to a half hour. A few minutes is used for brushing my teeth. My shower usually takes me about twenty minutes. My hair is long so it takes me thirty minutes to dry my hair straight. Then I make breakfast and eat which in fact only takes me twenty minutes depending on what I make for breakfast. Then finally I am out the door. I would like to cut down on time simply because I am wasting to much time and energy. I feel rushed by running around in the morning and I am getting tired before my day even starts. I tried for one week different processes and the greatest way to cut down on time was by first, picking out my clothes the

In week one of this class, I was tasked to design a flowchart for a process in my daily life that I can improve. I chose my morning routine before work. My goal is to get out of the house by 7:38am Monday-Friday in order to catch my bus for work at 7:41am. I have trouble keeping track of time, usually missing the bus about one time every two weeks. I have discovered through the flowchart in week one, that my entire process has serious flaws. All of the bottlenecks were identified and improved upon as necessary. After collecting data over the past four weeks, I see changes in the process, using time as the metric. This paper will display the data that has been collected, as well as the calculations for the control limits, discuss the effect of the seasonal factors, and discuss the confidence intervals and their usefulness.…

This process would be best measured by using efficiency and productivity. Efficiency is defined as "a ratio of the actual output of a process relative to some standard" (Chase, Jacobs, Aquilano, 2006, p. 173). The standard in this example would be the average time it takes to complete the entire process. Productivity is the output divided by input. When the input is more than the output, productivity is increased. If I were able to complete additional tasks in addition to the daily routine, it can be determined, based on the definition of the measurements that it was an efficient and productivity morning.…

Several factors can affect my daily routine of getting ready for work. Metric system that we could use to measure these tasks is time. We can break the steps/tasks and see how much time is spend on each one of them and how by modifying them we could save some time. If too much time is spent on one task it will cause a chain reaction with a final result of being late for work. Next we will see the steps on the flowchart diagram (next…

The Emerson Class number system measures the likelihood of soil, when in contact with water, produces a murky cloud of particles. The number system considers the soil consistency that can be used to identify how dispersive the soil is. This, in turn, aids in the identification of soils that produce ‘dirty water’ where the sedimentation of these particles can harm plant and animal life.…

I always find that there is too much to do and not enough time to do it. Because time is so limited, learning how to manage time is crucial. The most basic way to start is by getting in the habit of making "To-Do" lists on a daily basis. This is a simple way to organize my plans for each day when I have multiple tasks to do. Of course keeping this habit would not be easy for me, because as it becomes part of my regular environment, most likely, I would simply forget to notice my list. A good way to remember my "To-Do" lists is to place it where it would easily be seen and grab my attention, like taping it to my car radio or keeping it in my wallet. I will also have to prioritize daily tasks in a way where I can use my biggest margin of time to do my most important tasks because taskes that are less critical do not requires as much energy or thought. This will allow me to insure that more important task get done. Using effective time management practices will help me to ensure quality use of my time as well as learning…

So, in the 1940s, some of the researchers introduce two-step flow model. Two-step flow model is came out because they think that communication is a complex process. A book, ‘The People’s Choice’ has been wrote by American sociologist Paul F Lazarsfeld. He summarized his research of November 1940 presidential election in his book. He discovered that people are more likely to be influenced by other people than the mass media on his research. He named this kind of people ‘opinion leaders’. Then, he published a book called ‘Personal Influence’ in which he offered further evidence for this theory at the same time with Elihu Katz. Opinion leaders pay close attention to the mass media and pass on their interpretation of media messages to others…
