Fluidized Bed Reflection
I feel a bit of relief after completing this report. This report came easier for me than the one immediately prior. Finally pushing myself to get through all the details, which for me at times can be very overwhelming. Communicating was much more fluid for me during this experiment. The initial shock of my last report forced me to stick with things I may have been uncomfortable with longer. Either way during this experiment I read and read and read and felt much more as ease knowing what I had to do, measure and what the overall goal was we all were striving towards. I felt a sense of calmness when I had to write the report, a sense of familiarity that made it much less overwhelming than earlier. Preparation is a huge part of this reports success but I too feel that getting a few reports under my belt ( bad or good ) helps in the ability to sit and write introductions and talk about …show more content…
I felt like a stayed true to the goals I had in the pre-reflection, I communicated more with my team and felt at ease when talking about the experiment with them. I not only understood what it was we were conducting but I was very interested in helping my family understand and define fluidized beds. At one point they were texting me their ideas of common everyday uses of fluidized beds. My mother asked if a popcorn maker would be an example of common everyday uses. It was because of this I felt I was getting closer to my goal and the goal of the professor by grasping the why and how of the importance of communicating technical information in a non-technical way. My family actually is looking forward to my next report and certainly enjoy being used as Guinea pigs. I feel fairly certain that the models and equipment and terminology we are using in all of our experiments will be used in even greater detail in my professional future. I feel I was able to describe and model the equipment in my report in a way that would be very easy for high school educated citizens

For my finial reflection I have decided to reflect on the reflective practice itself and my abilities to practice reflection, as it appears I am having some issues with the process. After receiving an A- on my last reflection, I spoke with my Faculty Advisor (FA) with the intention of discovering why I was not achieving marks in the A+ range on my reflections, and what I need to work on to improve on the quality of my reflections. Her feedback was that I was too broad in my approach; I spend too much time discussing the event and did not go into enough depth in my reflective analysis. I hope and anticipate that this reflection will be better; as I hope to demonstrate a deeper analysis of the issue and techniques I can use to improve my skills.…

time; how did it make you feel; how did other people make you feel; how did you feel about the outcome of the event; what do you think about it now. Stage 3: Evaluation Try to evaluate or make a judgement about what has happened. Consider what was good about the experience and what was bad about the experience or didn’t go so well Stage 4: Analysis Break the event down into its component parts so they can be explored separately. You may need to ask more detailed questions about the answers to the last stage. Include e.g. what went well; what did you do well; what did others do well; what went wrong or did not turn out how it should have done; in what way did you or others contribute to this Stage 5: Conclusion This differs from the evaluation stage in that now you have explored the issue from different angles and have a lot of information to base your judgement. It is here that you are likely to develop insight into you own and other people’s behaviour in terms of how they contributed to the outcome of the event. Remember the purpose of reflection is to learn from an experience. Without…

Before taking this English 101-A course, I had a particular perception when it came to writing essays and English language. In High school, I was a really lazy student. As lazy as they can come, I was that times 10. For as long as I can remember I had always coasted through Elementary school and Middle school with really great grades. I would take honor roll courses and get straight A’s and 1 B almost every year. So by the time I had reached my first year in High school 9th grade, I decided I didn’t have to pay attention to anything or anybody because I thought I was so smart. I literally attended school from 9th grade to 12th grade to pass. I thought it would serve no higher purpose to me other than a time to get in some solid nap time, get…
