I think the author is trying to show how the Japanese treated their prisoners of war.
After Reading:
1. Does this story create a certain mood or feeling?
No it doesn’t because it is a documentary.
2. I really like the fact that... the author got in touch with the Flyboys families and told them had happened to the flyboys.
3. What do you think is most important about what you just read?
I think the fact that the author learned what the unknown airman’s name was at a book signing is important because he learned the name after the book was published.
4. Is this book like any other book that you have read or heard?
No this book is different because e I have never read a documentary.
5. What did you learn about a particular character?
At the end of the book I learned the name of the unknown airman.
Summary: This book is about the flyboys who were captured on Chichi Jima and later killed there. This book also gave information on the history of flight and the history of Japan. I enjoyed reading this book because I didn’t know much about Japan or WWII. This book overall is a great book and definitely worth the time to read
