Food Bank Reflection Essay
As a member of group 2, introducing University District Food Bank(UDFB), I work on what does UDFB do in Seattle and why does this social issue matter in Seattle. I read a lot of articles on the topic of hunger in the United States and in Washington, trying to provide supportive statistics to speak out how serious hunger issue is. Also, I try to analyze the rhetorical usage from the Food Bank website. However, when I start working on the powerpoint, we shared on Google Drive, I find others have already done my job. At first, I just simply believe it is my problem that I don’t communicate well with my partners. On that day we meet to practice presentation, everyone seems courtesy to each. So, we always comply with the one who has suggestion. The night before the presentation, I …show more content…
If they have better ideas, they can tell me. Although I am not a talkative person, I still want people to respect me. I send massage to my partner, asking what else I can do in order to make our group better. She just tells me just be prepared for my part. On the presenting day, I don’t behave well. I am nervous and I have no idea what else I can talk. My partners all do well job on our presentation for not only the preparation but also the speaking. I really appreciate their effort and their patience to carry me. But if we are more open-hearted to each other, we will stay happier and be more respectful. I don’t blame at them, and I know it is my problem. I learn a lot by researching articles on hunger. I am more familiar about the rhetorical analysis, what I learned at this semester. I can find evidences to support my statement. These abilities are what I get from this presentation. Moreover, I will be thankful for having a comfortable living environment. After I read several researches, I realize how blessed I am—eat when I am hungry, sleep when I am tired. I also google for the solution of hunger, and find out there is one interesting belief. I enjoy doing this

Also we could have introduced ourselves and our care profession at the start of the meeting and shook one another’s hand showing courtesy and politeness. Other ways which we could of improved it is by not having our coats on and so that we are more comfortable and can move about easily for use of good body language. Another way which we could have improved it in our group would be by sitting in more of a closed circle so that we can hear one another efficiently and can see each other clearly in order to see body language and facial expressions. This will help make communication effective and avoid misinterpretations so that no mistakes in the meeting are made. I feel that I could of improved the way that I acted with the group as I feel that I took a direct approach which made me out to be the main person/leader of the group who was in charge due to be speaking up and setting up the topic for discussion. By speaking up in the group with my opinions this may have made the others in the group shy and they may not feel as confident in expressing their opinions. Therefore I would improve this by making it all equal between one another so that others feel that they are on the same level and can speak up and say what they would like to…

Imagine you’re walking down the sidewalks of Wilmington. You see cars and buses driving by along with adults and children. You notice that there is a little girl, looking rather malnourished, holding a plastic bag full of canned vegetables, peaches, and juice. As she walks by, a paper flutters out of the bag. You pick it up and realize that it’s a flyer for the Food Bank of Delaware. The paper says that they are in need of volunteers to help package food for people in Delaware. You ask yourself, “If I volunteered, could I make a change?” The answer is yes. The Food Bank of Delaware needs volunteers to help package food for people who cannot obtain it. Some may go without food, but with the help of volunteers at the Food Bank of Delaware, more people will have the chance to get the food they need.…
