the World Cup is held every four years, any FIFA-affiliated asociasion can participate in the competition. The host country, meaning the one that will held the World Cup, is automatically qualified without playing World Cup qualifiers. each continent has its own qualifying process, those who are best placed in their respective groups will be the ones that qualify to the World Cup. The FIFA representatives choose the groups randomly heading with 8 countries as group leaders there are a total of 8 groups with 4 teams in each, a summing up 32 countries that fight for the cup. Each team is guaranteed three games and the two best are the ones that advance to the elimination phase. In the round of elimination if a match ends in a draw (90 minutes), extra time is played and if you are still tied then there would be penalties. Mexico has hosted The World Cup twice, in 1970 and 1986. Unfortunately Mexico never succeed in their 4th game, referring that they always lose in the round of sixteenth which is the second round of elimination. in the most recent world cup held in Brazil, Mexico got a chance to take the victory in the round of sixteenth against the Netherlands, unfortunately they lost due to a non-existent penalty, due to this Mexico suffered the elimination of the World Cup.
