To walk with a great cause opens a world of discoveries. Sometimes, each step we toddle into different adventures of life lets us trace the pathways of our ancestors. We walk to see what lies ahead and as we begin to witness so many things around us, we realize that we are not just confined within the bounds of our home – we start to see and weigh up things differently.
As a young adult who is expected to enjoy life’s simple pleasures like surfing the net, watching movies and hanging out with friends, I realized that there is more to life now than clinging into the things I want. The realization I have already cuddled started when my two itchy feet followed the many footsteps going to this newly discovered haven of the east – the Nueva Era Eco-Cultural Park.
The name sounds refreshing, right? Nueva Era, Ilocos Norte may be the farthest municipality from the city; yet, its hidden magnificence is coming out on the spotlight. Yes, we’d show you what we’ve got! I am proud I am a Nueva Eranian and I am so fortunate because I behold a place where the bounties of nature are being landscaped naturally. There are trees that supply us with most of our basic needs. The mountain ranges, view escapes, wildlife parks and the cascading waterfalls flowing into the brooks lure us all with their majestic clarity not to mention their enduring beauty, serenity and solitude they bring. In Nueva Era, everything about nature is simply astounding. Surely, one can’t help but be awed by what it will provide from a bliss experience.
