For Poets by Al Young is an inspiring poem. The narrator speaks to the readers in third person when describing the tone which is hopeful and powerful. The setting is metaphorically relating to being outside and the nature around us. For Poets is based around a metaphor for its literary device. The whole poem is a metaphor that compares the struggles and good times of life to nature. The message of the poem is saying that you should stay happy, proud, and wise and you can do this by giving it your all.
