For The Birds: Bullying And Its Consequences
The short film, For the Birds, represents bullying and its consequences. The plot of the story gives the viewer the chance to take away a very important message from a funny kid’s film. The film presents its message in a way that is easy to understand because it was meant for adolescent viewers. Whether young or old, For the Birds sends all viewers the same message. It happens every day; a group of people gang up on another person, just like the characters in For the Birds. This concept is a very important item to discuss because bullying happens all the time. Bullying is part of everyday life, there are different forms of it all around us; it is seen every day. Some people are constantly bullied throughout their life. Being bullied is not correct in any way. In some cases of bullying people have ended their own lives because of other people’s tormenting. Other cases are not as extreme, but nevertheless …show more content…
One of the ways that the producers made the film fun and easy for all ages to understand, was they used little, fuzzy, blue birds to act out the story. The bird’s actions and expressions made it easy to understand that they were not very nice. The ending revealed the true intentions of the film. It describes very clearly how bullying happens and what the consequences are. The consequences of the birds were that they all got flung off the wire and lost all of their feathers, because of their actions toward the friendly bird that they did not like. I enjoyed watching is as well as learning from it. I learned that by treating others poorly, you put yourself at risk for something unpleasant to happen to you as well. All of the things that happen to bullies in return could all be avoided if they would act like civil people. There is no need to be penurious toward somebody for no real reason, just to amuse yourself; there are so many better ways to spend your time than by bullying

This demonstrates the author’s genuine tone because he uses expressive language to explain his mindset on crows. Another example of the authors positive tone is shown when he states that the crows “we're taught to beware not humans in general, but one human in particular.” The crows use their brainpower and judgement to protect themselves and their offspring. This exhibits the crows remarkable abilities in a delightful way. By using positive terms and affectionate language, Shaw reveals his appreciative attitude towards…

A common, albeit subtle theme found in The Birds is the incessant bird watching, by both the characters and the audience. The voyeur’s tools (eyes) being destroyed by their subject serves as a commentary on the audience’s voyeurism. Shots of birds flying at and attacking the screen give the impression the voyeuristic audience being attacked. This is another example of voyeurism being associated with…

"The birds sat comfortably in groups, and they were envied by some in the dinghy, for the wrath of the sea was no more to them than it was to a covey of prairie chickens a thousand miles inland." (342 Crane) The birds in the story symbolize how in control nature truly is. They cannot but watch as birds fly so close that they can see the black of each other's eyes. The birds play an important role in testing the men emotionally. If the men can remain calm as an animal that normally would not be problem if…

The Thorn Birds is a good story that McCullough’s skill lies in. It is to be regretted that she is not a serious literary stylist. Unquestionably, her characters are sometimes standardized, their approaches about each other tend to be too authentic and too specific. Moreover, stories about the people is always cared by readers. Besides, readers also believe in those stories. She has the aptitude of weaving the reader into her novels to the extent that unbelievable stories become believable.…

There is a gathering of external plot points added to The Birds film. For starters, The Birds is more of a romance movie with some bird conflict along the way whereas “The Birds” short story focuses more on the suspense aspect of the plot. Since the short story only focuses on one character’s point of view, it allows the reader to focus only on his problem and aspect of the situation. Nat’s perspective of life after the second bird attack, “The sight of the kitchen reassured him. The cups and saucers, neatly stacked upon the dresser, the table and chairs, his wife’s roll of knitting on her basket chair, the children’s toys in a corner cupboard” (Marrier 4). This quote proves that the readers are only exposed to how Nat sees every occurrence. By Marrier doing that, it adds complexity to the circumstance because Nat is the one going through it and the readers only see Nat’s struggles. But, since the movie has two characters, it makes the viewers focus more on both of them as a whole and the connection they have because of the situations they have faced. The weather also enhances the romance in the movie. The peaceful, bright setting sets the mood for a love scene when the obscure, serious setting sets the mood for the situational plot for the story. The weather in the…
