people understand the true meaning of Islam. The MSA believes that Islam's true message is to spread peace throughout the world and unite people despite religious differences. Last year, the MSA organized a charity event to raise funds for Syrian refugees and raised more than $40,000 from our campus. Using this money, the MSA sent out canned food, water, bread, and other resources that contributed to the survival of many Syrian refugees. The MSA strongly encourages and welcomes people of other faiths to come to its weekly meetings and learn more about what Islam promotes. The MSA also invites a Muslim speaker who talks about Islam and spreads its true meaning. In those events, the MSA welcomes everyone to come join and learn about Islam, and they are also given the chance to ask any questions they may have, regardless of their own beliefs. The MSA also holds club outings twice a semester at restaurants near the campus. All types of people are welcome. These events are funded by the Student Involvement Center here at Fordham University. Fordham highly supports the MSA to continue its club activities. Fordham University has recently approved the petition of a prayer room located on the 3rd floor of Lincoln Center campus. Among over 40 MSA club members, five of them are non-Muslim. The MSA strives to increase this number and invites all students to join; regardless of race, gender, culture, sexual identity, socioeconomic status, religion. Therefore, the MSA promotes an inclusive environment at Fordham’s campus.
