Their main job is to determine the cause and manner of death of the person and be able to possible present it before a jury (“Forensic”). They must also be able to diagnose the mechanism of death to explain why the person is no longer able to live. Anders Persson has created what is known as the “Virtopsy Table” (Navalkar). This table allows pathologist to freely examine the 3D image that was created with the help of the virtobot and virtopsy. The table uses a “large touch sensitive liquid-crystal-display (LCD) screen” to display the image clearly. The pathologist is then able to perform the “autopsy” on the 3D image with their finger. They are able to use their finger to look through the layers of the skin and examine the organs.
