The four basic steps of DNA processing are extract, amplify, separate, and analyze.

Vitreous humor is the clear liquid inside the eye that gives the eye its shape, forensic scientists use this to confirm results received from the blood or urine.
3. From the survey in the toxicology lab, would you be a good candidate to work in this area of forensic science? Why or why not?
I do not think so, it was difficult for me to catch on, and it is not really an area of interest to me.
4. From the firearm analysis, what is a rifling number? How is it determined?
A rifling number is the number of lands or grooves in a rifled barrel, the number can be determined by counting the number of impressions on the bullet.
5. In the firearm case, what type of gun fired the bullet?
In the firearm case, a Taurus fired the bullet.
6. What percentages of deaths in the medical examiner’s office are due to natural causes, homicides, and accidents?
38%: Natural Cause
9% Homicide
40: Accidental
7. In abiding by the code of ethics, forensic scientists must possess what characteristics or ethics?
Forensic scientists must be impartial, accurate, thorough, and truthful.
8. Which of the areas covered would be most interesting to you? Why?
I think ballistics would be the most interesting to me, because there are so many different types of guns and bullets, and they are all specific to each other, something I think is really interesting.
