The assumption of this saying is that if you do not live forever young, you will not survive life. When you are young, your whole life is about the pursuit of fun and happiness. Then, you grow up and learn to be a tad more cautious. You could break a bone or even a heart. You begin to look before you leap, and sometimes you don't leap at all because there is not always someone there to catch you. In life there are no safety nets. There is no possible way you can survive as a person without taking chances and living to the beat of your own drum.

One day before my surgery, I sat down in the middle of my room and evaluated my situation. Hours passed, and I found my self-doubting the doctor with my heart backing me up. I realized that this injury would not ruin my volleyball career. I thought to myself that there must be another way to get around this horrible situation. Finally, it hit me like a wooden spoon. Living forever young is the only way I would be able to get through
