Formal Analysis: Foil By Weird Al Yancovic

1. The very first thing which influenced my decision of what I was going to research came from a music video called “Foil” by Weird Al Yancovic. It begins talking about the usefulness of aluminium foil but then very suddenly turns into a lot of conspiracy nonsense at that he was protected by it all because of his aluminium foil hat. This is what caused me to choose my research project. I had always liked reading conspiracy theories because I found them funny however I never made the consideration of researching one of them.
2. On the topic of Ancient Aliens I didn’t know much information at all, just that incredible structures of the past were perhaps constructed with the assistance of aliens. I knew more about my previous …show more content…
considered research project question which involved lizard people or Reptilians. I later found out that this lizard theory was some way related to the Ancient Astronauts theory.
3. The very first question I thought of was “Did aliens come to Earth a long time ago to help the Earliest human civilizations”. My current and most likely final question is “Have aliens been visiting Earth since the dawn of time?”. This is a lot broader because it doesn’t have a limit on the years the last aliens came. This change was made after researching and finding out that some alien events happened within 60 years.
4. The first question I used specifically stated that these alien visits only happened during ancient civilization times. I changed this after watching an episode which stated that aliens may have had connections with Hitler and the Third Reich. It was because of this that I changed my research project question to make sure it didn’t have a specified length of time since the last alien visits to Earth, considering the fact WWII didn’t happen too long ago when compared to some things that happened during ancient civilizations.
5. I never really drew out a timeline because I had never thought I’d need to organise which areas of research I’d specifically progress on for the day. It may have been better to because currently I am just doing work which needs to be done. There is no order to it and could cause a few things to become slightly more complicated.
6. Majority of the information of this theory will come from written text or a television series called Ancient Aliens. The ethics will most likely stay safe for most of my research project is done at home or at school while not making much movement. Research can sometimes be very non-productive because I’d have gotten distracted or can’t find a better way to understand a certain piece of information.
7. At the moment the only forms of research I have done are Websites and videos. If I had more time I’d be working on annotating a couple of other sources. I plan on reading the book “Chariots of the Gods” soon because that is where this theory originated from. The second coming source is another episode of Ancient Aliens featuring Grey Aliens and how they impacted Earth. The third source I had in mind to annotate is a website dedicated to mysterious information regarding the great pyramids of Egypt. And finally the last planned annotation is by using a survey I have created.
8. Once I have finished gathering all the main information from sources for my guiding questions. I’ll begin only using websites that have small relevance to my guiding questions. One current example is the Wikipedia page of David Icke. He is the man behind the reptilian elite theory, which is also mentioned within the ancient astronaut theory.

The episodes from the Ancient Aliens series will most likely contain the most accurate information because each episode is made using the top Ancient Alien theorists, The next most reliable source would be Wikipedia because I know a lot of the information from relevant topics are commonly discussed within theorists. The least accurate sources would be under developed looking websites. Because this theory isn’t the most popular google search, website with dodgy layouts and incorrect information will be a lot easier to …show more content…

Yes, these research processes contain enough information on given topics to answer my guiding questions. I selected a few of my guiding questions because there were episodes that specifically talked about them. This makes the research a lot easier for every bit of it is relevant information.

At the very beginning when I chose upon using this question for my research project, I was unaware that there was a massive series dedicated to making connections and providing convincing enough opinions, backed by convincing enough information of relations between extra-terrestrials and humans. This has now become my main source of information because there are slightly more than 100 episodes with each one discussing different topics in good detail
12. There hasn’t been too much important ideas or findings which have emerged from my research because this a theory and none of it has been proven to be true. Findings of this topic would only be important to those that believe in this theory.
13. As far as knowledge gained from conducting this research has gone, I have gained knowledge of the subject however it isn’t particularly all that important. I have however developed skills from conducting this research, I find it easier to understand questions which allows me to better answer them. Previously I would write content that was unrelated to what was meant to have been
done.
14. Such challenges that I have faced while doing research project is managing my time wisely and getting work done in class. I chose not to do all that much and now I have to add additional information to already existing pieces of work to be handed up as part of my ten pages folio. There have also been incredibly minor challenges which aren’t worth mentioning.
15. From what I understand, the Literacy Capability is mainly divided into two focuses. The first focus is about how to write information certain ways so that it’s more presentable to certain audiences. The second focus is verbal communication to gain knowledge or better understanding of your research topic.
16. I don’t think that I am yet to have fully developed the Literacy Capability simply because it’s still sometimes hard to comprehend a question and then research about it. I don’t think I’ll manage most of this capability because I am only doing a select few of the examples that are said to be involved.
