Dear Mayor Linda A. DuBois,
I am pleased to learn of the Committee’s steps towards beginning a neighborhood watch program in Pittsgrove. Our community will benefit greatly from this system. However, many of the residents are still unaware of this organization’s existence. Properly advertising the neighborhood watch program will result in more participation and an improvement in its overall operation.
I offer my complete support to this program by volunteering and recruiting others. Being an active member of a watch system is rewarding to it’s members. Citizens feel a sense of empowerment when they are responsible for keeping their children and neighbors protected. A statistic from the National Neighborhood Watch Program showed that the amount of burglaries in America decreased more than 30 percent throughout the 1990’s. This is due to communities implementing neighborhood watch teams, and taking more effective measures to stop crime before it begins.
I would like to express my gratitude for your many services over the past five years. Your support of the “Early Voting Bill” has made a positive impact on many of the younger citizens in our community.
On behalf of all of the citizens of Pittsgrove Township, I sincerely hope that you give the neighborhood watch program the attention it deserves so that it may advance, and perform it’s services to the best of it’s ability. Distributing flyers by placing them in mailboxes would better advertise the program, or possibly mentioning the system at the end of the township meetings. There are many simple ways to spread the word about Pittsgrove’s neighborhood watch.
I am personally willing to assist with publicizing the organization in any way necessary. Thank you for your time and consideration.
Sincerely,
