To emphasize, the film did a respectable job at demonstrating the racial relations between people in America through the desegregation of the University of Alabama. As demonstrated, George Wallace, the governor, tried to prevent two African-American students from enrolling causing President Kennedy to send federal troops to the university just to ensure enrollment for those two students. Correspondingly, the film also accurately demonstrates the brutality the Vietnam war brought and start of the Anti-Vietnam war rally, a movement created for the various injustices and lost lives of young soldiers in the war. The only inaccuracies the film had were small and, to those who have some general grasp on history, were obvious to point out as not accurate. In the final analysis, the Forrest Gump is a good film to watch if one is trying to learn or grasp the ambiance of the period and, as a student, I believe having an insight of what the period was truly like, the better understanding you’ll have of it. The film is both funny and academic, it provides the entertainment most enjoy, but at the same time gives the general information one needs to know for that
