Some people say schools should have a four-day week for a variety of reasons. There are several good arguments for having a four-day week. One, is the students become more focused on school in a shorter amount of time. Another argument is that students have more time to rest their brain before going back to school. On the other hand, students can become more complacent about their school work if given more time.
A counterpoint would be that students find it difficult to handle the dramatic change from a five day week to a four day week. Also some kids parents are not together and one parent has custody over the child and they work a five day week, or they may be together and they both work a
five day weekend. Another thing would be there is less hand on learning time for the students that need it.
A point would be there is extra rest and a less stressful environment. There are also less students getting in trouble it is showed that the discipline rate went down 73 percent. Also the attendance improved for students, and teachers.
Another point would be it allows a financial gain for the school itself. The students seem to be more focused and more into their studies for their classes. Also it gives them more free time to be more active and social.
So you see there are many reasons a four day school week would be a good idea. It helps with stress and being social. But there are also some downs to the idea a four day week.
