Permoser depicted torment in a manner that is overtly torturous or painful. He also presents themes of torment through ridicule and comedy, seen in the set The Four Seasons, made in 1685 in ivory for the Green Vault in Dresden. The Green Vault was one of Augustus the Strong’s main projects, evolving into an artistic center, featuring many of Permoser’s works. Permoser’s use of mockery is his subtle way of weaving his own style with his patrons, Augustus the Strong. These ivory mythological characters each embody a specific season: Flora for spring, Ceres for summer, Bacchus for autumn, Vulcan for winter.…

One can recount many instances where the truth is stretched for film, theater, or television to make a better story, but it appears that the smash Broadway hit Jersey Boys is pretty accurate. Bob Gaudio, one of the original members of The Four Seasons, was instrumental in the creation of Jersey Boys, which won the 2006 Tony Award for Best Musical and is seemingly entrenched at the August Wilson Theatre for a long run in addition to numerous touring productions.…

Before this uniting every hotel has their own hardware and software to keep data of their customers. Even Lifestyle Resorts and Home-Away Hotels didn’t have a centeral system to check and compare data. Hotel managers were responsible for pricing and customer information. When Ben Garrett joins Homestyle Hotels as information services director, he had a rough way to set things up. The COO Fred Gains called this situation unacceptable. Of course a national brand needs a good centeral information system. The first meetings was about current data keeping systems. They anaylzed every hotel and their softwares. Masumoto’s Four Seasons in Five Senses: A New Approach to the Nature Genre The idea of nature and the idea of man’s interaction with nature has been a prevalent thought throughout American literature. Often one thinks of a writer discussing their adventures in nature when provided with a nature genre book or they think of a nature guidebook. In Four Seasons in Five Senses, by David Mas Masumoto, however, Masumoto writes the nature genre through a discussion of his peach farm.…

Four Seasons Hotels was founded by Isadore "Issy" Sharp, born on October 8, 1931.Sharp's father, Max, emigrated from Poland to Palestine in 1920, where he helped build one of the first kibbutzim. Relocating to Toronto five years later, Max worked for a few years as a journeyman plasterer; he married and began a family that would include his son Issy and three daughters. Drawing on his home renovation experience, Max Sharp soon began purchasing houses, repairing and decorating them, and then selling them at a profit. Issy Sharp had lived in 15 houses by the time he was 16 years old. He married Rosalie Wise and they have three sons, Jordan, Gregory and Anthony. They lost a fourth son, Christopher, to melanoma cancer in 1978. [Iverson,1996.]…

On 1st September, 1725, I attended a performance of “The Four Seasons”, a concerto by the Italian composer Antonio Vivaldi at the Pieta. The composer, often known locally as the “Red priest” (Heller, 1997) for his ostensibly red hair and ordainment, wrote the piece in 1723 in Mantua; Italy’s music sure seems to be increasing in its grandeur. However, I would doubt the sincerity of Vivaldi’s concertos; ever since Corelli these instrumental pieces are pumped out massively for the aristocracy (Michalik, 1998). However, I trust my colleague at Venice, who states the vivacious implementation of melodies are quite like no other person he’s seen in this style. Henceforth, I shall keep an open mind, as the use of solo instruments should be interesting…

The financial success of any lodging facility is largely dependent on the skill and ability of on-site management. Hotel operators face a number of unique problems, ranging from booking convention business to running a high-energy lounge to installing night audit financial controls. While the skills needed to handle such problems can be acquired through college-level training and operational experience, it is the type of system used by management that usually determines how successfully personnel can apply their skills. Historically, hotel owners have either hired individual on-site managers to operate their properties or have engaged the services of professional hotel companies through hotel operating agreements such as property leases or management contracts. The employment of individual managers is the less expensive approach, but there are serious drawbacks to such arrangements. In terms of supervision of staff, overall management skill, and effective operational methods, management companies are frequently superior to individual managers.…
