However, when Victor sees that the creature has awakened he, horrified at what he has done, decides to flee. However, Victor does not follow through with the plan. The creature then goes through with the warning that he gave Victor if he did not complete the task, that he would begin to kill. On Victor’s wedding night the creature follows through with his threat, and kills Victor's wife Elizabeth. This situation pertains to a relationship between a parent and child as well. If a child is set on a certain event happening, such as going to a party but the parent refuses, the child may act out in rage. Much like the creature except with a milder reaction. Although, if a situation was turned into a younger child who does not yet understand the concept of sharing and a toy is taken away. This then causes the child to cry and act in rage over something so innocent and simple. One could state that the creature may also be like the child who acts in rage as a way of …show more content…
The creature may not even see that taking a human life is consider a murderess and an evil act. (Manliness) He not only took a life due to the betrayal of Victor not following through with his plan to make a women. The creature also took the life of William. Victor's brother simply out of revenge for leaving him alone after he was created. Overall, Victor should have given the creature the attention and knowledge that he needed so the creature would not act out and commit these actions. Therefore, one could blame Victor for all the wrongful actions committed by the creature who does not understand what is ethically correct. (Sparknotes) Much like a child who may cry when their parent leaves them for a moment and the child feels abandoned and begins to scream as a way of expressing emotion. However, the creature expresses his emotions as seen in a much different manner out of lack of simple ethical

The creature was left to die when created and had no one that loved him. Humans would run at the sight of him or try to hurt him. Even though the creature only wants companionship with other human beings. “ he aimed a gun, which he carried, at my body, and fired.” (Shelly 108). The creature saves a little girl from drowning and yet her father rewards him with a bullet. Another difference is that Victor has everyone in his life yet values none of them while the creature has no one in his life, but values everyone. “Let him live with me in the interchange of kindness, and, instead of injury, I would bestow every benefit upon him with tears of gratitude at his acceptance.” (Shelley 111). The creature just wants to be accepted by society. However, another similarity between the two is that they are both very intelligent. Instead of standing up and taking the blame for creating the monster which ultimately led to the death of his brother, he lets the trial go on and lets Justine die for a crime she did not commit. Victor is more accountable for this death than Justine is because of everything he did to the monster to lead up to this moment. He created the creature and then left it all alone in the wild. The monster could obviously reason and wanted to harm his creator for his abandonment. As he was walking he heard that this man was related to Victor, killed him, and then planted evidence so that it looked like Justine had committed the crime. Victor refuses to take charge of his own actions and instead casts a gloomy fate on all of those close to him. His wife, Elizabeth, is killed later in the story right after they get married. Victor thought that the monster would kill him so he gets away from his wife. He then realizes the creature meant that he would kill his wife but he is too late and she has already been killed. He could have prevented Elizabeth from dying if he had informed her about his secret and given her knowledge that she could have protected herself…

Throughout the novel, The Monster is characterized as a sensitive being; he wants to be loved and resents the fact that he was rejected by Frankenstein. As he gains knowledge and begins to grow more intelligent, The Monster comes to the realization that Victor abandoned him, that he is unwanted. This frustrates him as he continually gets rejected by society. Although Victor seems to think very highly of himself, The Monster has a very low self-esteem, “I, the miserable and the abandoned, am an abortion, to be spurned at, and kicked, and trampled on” (pg #), which stems from his rejection by both Victor and society as a whole. This character trait of The Monster makes the sort of selfishness of Victor, as it shows that, in his search for fame and glory, he was uncaring of the consequences. In creating The Monster, Victor’s intentions were not what they should have been; instead of trying to create life in order to make the world better, he was doing is for the sole purpose of becoming a God-like person. His God-complex is apparent in other parts of the novel as well, when he meets The Monster in the mountains and they have a conversation about Victor’s want to destroy The…

Victor talks about how he thinks that the parents of someone have a large impact on how the rest of their life turns out and says “the innocent and helpless creature bestowed on them by heaven, whom to bring up to good, and whose future lot it was in their hands to direct to happiness or misery, according as they fulfilled their duties towards me.”(6) Victor lost his mother at an early age and it has impacted his life greatly. Victor's loss of his mother and abandonment has caused many of the issues in his life but, these actions cause the monster to suffer in the same way. The monster was abandoned so it had no mother or parent to show it the way. He needed his creator to guide him. The monster needed to be taught the ways of the world so that he could fit into society. The monster got pushed into the world all by himself with nobody to lead the way. Victor and his creation both needed a mother to help take care of them. Victor needed one when he became isolated and the monster needed someone to help it understand the world. Even Victor says how he believes that the parents have a huge part in how the life of their child will turn out. The fear and disgust that Victor felt from the monster kept him from being that person that the monster needed. Someone not letting the monster know right from wrong caused him to commit the murder of the boy because he did not know the proper way to interact with…

Both Victor’s self-serving attitude and ego shines through when he is more concerned for his own life, than the life of Justine’s, when he condescendingly states, “… I have confessed myself guilty of the crimes ascribed to Justine, but such a declaration would have been considered the ravings of a madman” (Shelley 66) Victor also shows no consideration in hiding his contempt for the Creature, and the Creature becomes painfully aware of his creator’s feelings towards him. Even when the Creature had begged Victor for a female companion, in return promising to never harm mankind again, Victor still destroyed the female counterpart to save his own skin, and to deny the Creature the right of companionship. This shows not only the level of Victor’s narcissism, but also shows the pinnacle of his character and moral deterioration, which eventually leads to the demise of himself and…

Victor also does not provide the creature an education after creating it. This forces the creature to educate himself. This shown when the creature narrates, “….the idea instantly occurred to me that I should make use of the same instructions to the same end.” The creature educated himself solely through watching cottagers and reading books. Many of these books gave the creature the idea of revenge and of a mate. For example, one of the books the creature read, Plutarch’s Lives, is a biography about Greek leaders and heroes. Some used their powers for good while others used their powers for bad. This gave the creature the idea of using his power of superhuman strength and speed for bad purposes, specifically revenge. Another book called The Sorrows of Werter is about a man named Werter who loves a woman but she does not love him back. This eventually gave the creature the idea of needing a mate. Since Victor did not supply the creature an education with right ideas and beliefs, the creature took revenge and murdered William and framed Justine. It also made the creature think he needed a mate. If Victor did supply the creature with an education, the creature would not get these beliefs and would not take revenge on the Frankenstein…

In conclusion, Frankenstein’s creation is a child in a distorted and large frame. He tends to be scared and vulnerable when alone and seeks approval as children do, such as when they cry out for their parents. He also starts off his life unbiased and unprejudiced, happy with the world, even loving his surroundings. Just as young children hold no prejudices until altered by their surroundings as the creature was after he was attacked by villagers and rejected by the ones he loves. Finally both children and the monster had to develop their senses and learn about the world around them through experience. In reality…

Nurturing a child is just as important as building bridges and driving an engine. Moreover, nurturing is what can help create a better society where everyone is equal for if a nurturer teaches a child compassion, love, and empathy, such child, who will eventually become an adult, can spread the lessons of sympathy among other members of the society and teach their own children the same lessons. The unfortunate truth is that, indeed, many men are brought up to be aggressive and consider themselves superior to women. They are less tied to the domestic matters and their families than women; however, I think it is wrong and man and women must cooperate and mutually depend on each other. Victor’s ego brought his miseries on him as he became less and less involved in his family and more and more in his harmful researches. Then, he was not able to nurture his creation not only right but at all. The only things that the creature knew were violence and rejection; therefore, he became a monster for he was treated like one. Victor has failed his creation, his child. However, there is a possibility that a compassionate woman might have changed the course of this story. If she were to give the creature a loving home and protection, he would have been nurtured a…
