29 January 2017 Essay Summary Frankenstein’s Daughter is written by Maureen F. McHugh. The story is about a little girl who is a clone of her dead sister and how the family has dealt with the problems that come with her and the death of their daughter and sister. Robert is the main character in the story along with his mentally ill little sister Cara. Cara is the clone of her older sister, Kelsey. Kelsey died in a car accident when she was thirteen and the family had a very hard time dealing with it, as you can tell in the reading. Cara sees lights that she likes in the store and Roberts uses that as his diversion. While Cara is messing with the lights and the workers are trying to get her to stop, Robert goes to the shelf and takes the cards. When he is done he goes over to where Cara is at, apologizes to the workers and just walk out with the stolen cards. Cara ends up really liking the lights in the store and when Robert tells her she can't have them she gets very upset and throws a fit. She gets so upset that she starts having an asthma attack. Luckily their mother was walking towards them at the time and saw what was happening, so they hurried along and got in the car to go home. When they get home, Robert's mother tells him that he will have to stay home for a little while and she will call his dad to stay with him because she is taking Cara to the ER. When they finally arrive at the ER Cara is having a very hard time breathing but her mother doesn't panic because this happens very often. She doesn't get the doctor they normally do and this doctor want to run some tests on Cara so they will have to stay the night.
