Maria finally opened her eyes. The 3 minutes of waiting seemed to drag on forever. Se starred down at the little pink plus sign, it might as well of been a skulls and cross bones to her. Maria is 14, and she’s pregnant, but it’s not her fault. Three weeks ago her uncle moved in with her and her family. He came home drunk one night. He raped her. Now Maria who is a freshman in high school, straight A student and a great player for her schools soccer team, has a kid on the way. She is not only humiliated, she’s mortified. This isn’t her fault. Should she have to live with the consequences? This is why I believe in pro-choice. In these cases people should be able to get an abortion with hassle.
About Abortion
During an abortion the pregnancy is removed from the uterus. There are two types of abortion, Medical Abortion and Vacuum Aspiration.

Imagine you were in Maria’s situation. If this happen you could go buy the abortion pill. This is effect up to 8 weeks after your last period. After you do this you must also go to a follow up appointment at the hospital to make sure it was successful. If you are one of those people who likes things to feel more natural and private you can choose vacuum aspiration. This must be done within the first trimester, 6 to 13 weeks. First you get a shot to numb your cervix. This makes it a less painful experience for you. After this they stick a tube through your cervix into your uterus and suction out the pregnancy. If you choose to get a numbing shot you will barely feel anything and it only takes about five minutes.
