Freddie In The Cold Symbolism

She wrote the Tony Baloney picture books. “Freddie in the Shade” and “The Day it Rained Cats” have several similarities and differences such as using symbolism and how a setting shapes a character trait. Both “Freddie in the Shade” and “The Day it Rained Cats” use symbolism. In “Freddie in the Shade” on page 22 it said, “Freddie walked down Main Street in a suburb of Minneapolis wearing black wraparound sunglasses. Lately, he never took them off, indoors or outdoors” (Ryan). This quote is significant because, Freddie was using the sunglasses to hide. The taste of his eclair and the smell of the bakery helped to shape that character trait. On the other hand, in “The Day it Rained Cats” on page 25 it said, “Tears stung my eyes as I slammed the car door” (Park). Sheera felt heart-broken when she was at her house..
