People seem to have different opinions on whether or not we should remember the holocaust. There is also questions about if we should teach our students about it or just let the past stay in the past.Soon enough you will understand why it is so important for everyone around us to know about this tragic event. There are many important reasons for remembering the Holocaust: it teaches students about the history of the past, helps prevent genocides from recurring, and brings an awareness to current dangers.

That isn’t why we are teaching the students of this mass genocide in Germany. Elie Wiesel wrote the book Night to let people learn from his memories, he didn’t write it to put Germany in a bad light, he wrote it so those who have no idea what had happened in these camps could almost experience it through their imagination. People have the right to know about past events, just because something bad has accrued doesn’t mean the history of it should be left in the past. ”The only person who is educated is the one who has learned how to learn and change” (Rogers 1). Everyone needs to allow themselves to learn and change, or they are not truly learning. Germany has shown that they have learned and changes. There is no dark light over them, Germany is seen the way it’s meant to be seen. Educators can not change that.
