Backyard NBA Basketball
As a novel alternative to court side basketball games, Backyard NBA Basketball doesn’t take itself too seriously. It does however provide a refreshing gameplay style that is appealing for all ages and especially casual players looking for an accessible arcade sports game. As Dead Rising did for zombie games, Backyard NBA Basketball has done for basketball games; it put comically zany fun into a game with surreal and crazy action for some serious fun and enjoyable gameplay.

Backyard lets players choose from a small selection of courts to play on, and features 14 NBA Professionals in their childhood avatar form. Where the game proves most fun is by including power-ups to use during the game, such as speed boosts and gravity defying jump powers. The game has sold over 590,000 copies and has proved a decent offering with repeat playability and statistic tracking. There’s also a competitive mode to play against your friends. Of recent basketball games, there is little else outside the NBA franchise so this is a nice alternative that offers both freestyle and street hoop action. Released several years ago, the game has rebooted with a re-release for Android and IOS, if you missed it first time round you can pick it up for PC or mobile and bring the fun back to basketball

NBA 2K14

Perhaps the second best of all basketball games for PC is the NBA series. Each year the game just gets better and adds something new and fresh to the basketball challenge. In this game, you really feel like every shot counts, and every second that ticks away toward the deciding shot is precious. NBA 2K Basketball oozes a sense of realism where player choices make the difference between winning or losing the game. The level of detail in the game is impressive, down to the disappointed glance of failure, or the thousand yard stare, as well as the joyous mannerisms of the A.I scoring a hoop with seconds to spare.

The NBA series of basketball games top sales charts for a reason, it puts the player in the game, as close as they’ll ever get to playing in the NBA final, and the game is enjoyable, thrilling and full of nail-biting adrenalin at each block, pass or dive. 2k14 gives you a career mode to play in and you’ll definitely have to play hard and earn your reputation in the team. Basketball games don’t get better than this,

As an individual transitions from high school to college and then to a professional level, one may come to realize major and subtle differences in each level that is experienced. James Naismith invented the game of basketball as something to keep men occupied. It has changed a lot from then to now. It was first played with a peach basket with no hole in the bottom. There were no backboards. There was no 10-second line, three-second violation, and no frontcourt and backcourt lines. But the greatest difference between Naismith’s invention and basketball as we know it today was that in the thirteen rules, there were no provisions for dribbling. He said the game could be played with as few as three or as many as forty players on the court at the same time. Naismith didn’t want a soccer or lacrosse goal because indoors, nine men would line up in front of the goal and it would be impossible to score, so the goal had to be elevated. The 10-foot height on the baskets came about because the first peach baskets were attached to the…

Basketball is a very breath-taking sport to play. It draws others closer to their friends, and makes them realize who can really play a good game, or who is an unfair player in most cases. Another thing I like about basketball is that we don't only need friends or relatives to play against. We can play individually by ourselves. It can also be easier to learn when by yourself because we can teach ourselves certain tricks rather than copying from a friend. What's also cool about this sport is that you can play almost anywhere, indoors and outdoors, on a road, your driveway, the park, school, even at parties.…
