If I told you that a blob of ink can determine your personality, would you believe me? According to “What’s in an inkblot? Some Say, Not Much” by Erica Goode, the Rorschach inkblot test is a psychological test that asks the reader to interpret what they see in order to determine a person's personality or tendencies. The people who agree and disagree with the use of the Rorschach test are similar in that they both use evidence to support their claims, but the people who agree with it use a great deal of scientific support while the people who disagree with its uses, claim it’s not useful and it’s scientifically useless. Others will prove or disprove the use of the Rorschach test and its validity.…

Never Cry Wolf But Always Cry Truth When Wolf pups are born they are both deaf and blind, weighing only one pound, and then when they grow up they are ferocious killers, or are they? In the book Never Cry Wolf (1963) by Farley Mowat. Mowat was sent out by the government to go see if the wolves were killing all the caribou. Mowat use of ethos, humor, and personification to make me believe that the wolves are more curious and not a ferocious killer. First, Mowat used ethos to convince us the wolves aren't the real problem.…

Delirium is a dystopian novel about Lena Haloway a 17 year old girl, who falls in love in a society where love is seen as a disease. The author Lauren Oliver is an American author of a few New York Times bestselling YA novels. For my project I have created a playlist that represents the major points in the novel. I picked this novel because I enjoy books that are set in the future and with female protagonists. Delirium shows the theme of person vs. society when Lena falls in love with Alex. In this future version of Portland love a very illegal thing and could be punishable by death.…

Bonnie Cohen does a magnificent job in directing this heart-wrenching film on rape and sexual harassment. The consequences set for hubris sexual predators are less than ideal for the victims in “Audrie and Daisy”. Cohen explains to us the details of this horrendous act in a cacophony way and is also a great example of bildungsroman. Despite her trials, she grows as a person. She lives day by day relying on the support of her family and friends. Daisy continuously hopes that justice will soon be served to the boy who sexual abused her. But, being the grandson of a town official may have an effect on the leniency provided to the oppressor. Daisy feels as if it is her fault as she is the one who is blamed for the act committed by Matthew Barnett.…

The door of A Doll’s House is closed at last. This is a symbol for the end of the way society thinks about women back in the Victorian era around the 19th century. At the time Henrik Ibsen wrote the play A Doll’s House in Norway, it was normal for society to look down upon such women that would leave their children and husbands behind. Men had a higher status than women at that time. The title “Doll’s House” ties well with the play because it illustrates how in the past, society treated women as dolls. The title of the play demonstrates an allegory for women’s roles because it shows how Nora is treated like a doll by her father and husband; she is even treated like a doll in society. Women such as Christine Linde and Nora, during this era, have lifeless lives.…
