One of the places I would like to start working at would defiantly have to be the Double Tree by Hilton in Ontario CA. This is a beautiful place that has a lot of areas that interest me. Both back of the house and front of the house. It has been a very popular place for many travelers and locals as well. It is located near the Ontario International Airport and receives many types of travelers all year round. I would love to at some point work in the front of the house so that I may meet people and learn about different cultures. The hotel has room service and 3 restaurants with possible opportunities for the back of the house. It has a banquet and event area which brings a lot of local guest. They have a boxing event that I have not been to in a while but am a huge boxing fan and tips sounds good to me. They have a huge banquet area for weddings and such which also is of interest to me. The Night Club, Misty’s, not so much. I have been to this location for events on a few occasions and would love to work here and learn the tricks of the trade so that I may apply it to my future plans of opening a sort of lodging/eatery establishment.
The other place I would like to work at would be more of a mom and pop place with authentic food such as El Merendero in La Vern CA. This place has been here since 1982 and is a family owned and operated restaurant that serves great Tex-Mex food. They have a small, clean, fast, great, hot food place that is affordable. I think I could learn a lot from a place like this since I would like to have a similar set up myself. They are located next to the Pomona Fairgrounds and as such they attract all sorts of fans. I look forward to taking this on and hope for the best.
