Frozen Movie Review
In the movie Frozen there are two sisters named Elsa and Anna. Elsa was born with the powers of ice. After accidently injuring her sister with her powers, the king and the queen locked down the castle so that the people of the city don’t figure out that Elsa has powers and think that she’s a monster. After the parents go across the sea they run into a storm and the ship capsizes and they both die. Elsa becomes queen and they have to open up the castle for the coronation ceremony. Anna means a prince and they fall in “love,” so they ask Elsa for her blessing to marry and Elsa denies it. Anna makes a big deal about it and Elsa accidently uses her powers and freezes the whole city and runs off to the mountains. Anna goes to find her and save the day but during this Anna gets ice on her heart and has to find love to unfreeze it. The power of sisterly love unfreezes Anna’s heart and Elsa learns how to use her powers correctly. The city is now unfrozen and the girls keep the castle open and live happily ever after.
Frozen takes place in two different locations, the first being Arendelle and the second being in a distant mountain range. Arendelle is a rich far away kingdom where a king and queen rule over the city. Arendelle is very upbeat, colorful and fun. Whenever they are setting up for the coronation it’s like the fair; there is dancing, singing and excitement. Everyone is so excited because the gates have been closed for years, because of Elsa’s powers, and for this one day they’re open. The mountain range is dark, cold and icy. As Elsa beings walking up there she’s using her power to create a majestic castle made from ice.
The entire castle is centered on the hexagonal snowflake. The first room has a beautiful frozen ice fountain, two curving staircases along the sides which join together on a platform above and across from the entrance. Another curving staircase

Frozen is not like the other Disney films that the main character is a prince on a journey to save a princess or the main character a princess being saved by a prince, it is about a princess saving her sister, and not a man “because all men are disgusting loners” and “lying manipulative power hungry sociopaths” (Honest Trailers- Frozen). Leaning in the direction the women do not need a man to do great things, these princesses also display great powers, which includes creating life signifying a woman ability to give birth. Men were viewed as weak, evil individuals given that women are the only important thing being supported in this…

The behavior of Russ, the main character in the movie, can be described by using four different theories of development. Firstly, we can describe Russ’s behavior by Psychoanalytic Theories. In this case, Erikson’s Psychosocial Theory will be used to explain the behavior of Russ. According to Erikson’s Psychosocial Theory (Cherry, 2011a), there are eight stages of human development and people will experience a conflict that serves as a turning point in each stage of development. People who had overcome the conflict in each stage will develop a psychological quality whereas those who could not overcome the conflict will fail to develop that quality. In the movie, Russ did not overcome the conflict in sixth stage, which is intimacy vs. isolation. For example, as Russ did not have a good relationship with his father when he was small, end up he turns out to be a man who being isolated, as he did not get marry or even own a dog. This is because he did not develop intimacy since small. He did not know how to commit himself to another person.…

From an early age, Elsa sees herself as different, even though she is, and her families desire to hide her through the phrase of “Conceal, Don’t Feel, Don’t Let Them Know” highly emphasizes the need for Elsa to control this internal power she has. She pretends to be “good” and normal, instead of learning to be herself. She is never taught an adaptive way to regulate her emotions and impulses, so when she is playing with her little sister, she loses control. This loss of control harms her sister…

The film Precious directed by Lee Daniels is a solemn movie dealing with the unfortunate truths of everyday life for some individuals. The film staring Gabourey Sidibe who plays the main character Clarice “Precious” Jones along with co-stars Mariah Carey and Leni Kravitz is based in the Ghetto of Harlem in the year of 1987. Precious is a sixteen year-old illiterate morbidly obese teenager whom has grown up in the Ghetto of Harlem in a dysfunctional family. Her mother Mary verbally and physically abuses her and uses her as her personal servant while her father Carl also abuses her and has impregnated her twice. Early in the movie it is stated that Precious’s first child is named “Mongo” short for Mongoloid and suffers from Down syndrome. Mongo lives with Precious’ grandmother; however her mother Mary says the baby lives with them to cheat the welfare system and receive extra money from the government. Following the discovery of Precious' second pregnancy, she is suspended from school. Her junior high school principal arranges to have her attend an alternative school, which she hopes can help Precious change her life's direction. Throughout the movie Precious finds a way out of her traumatic daily existence through imagination and fantasy. She fantasizes about being a star because she wishes she was loved and appreciated. Inspired by her new teacher at the alternative school, Precious begins learning to read. Near the middle of the movie Precious starts to meet with a social worker named Miss Weiss who learns about incest in the household when Precious unknowingly tells her. Precious then gives birth to her second child and names him Abdul. While at the hospital, she meets a nursing assistant who shows kindness to her and she likes that, as she finally feels loved. My sister who is 12yrs old wanted her movie to be the Disney film “Frozen”. As usual for Disney this film was about two princesses. But to my surprise this film was different, these princesses were not being saved by some prince charming like a ‘damsel in distress’, nor did it end in a happily ever after marriage. The two main characters Elsa and Anna start off the film talking and playing with one another and too young to even be talking about a man. An easy automatic pass of the Bechdel test, I find this as a great milestone for Disney we have a princess that starts as a young child just having fun and playing with her older sister and when she gets a little older and is able to leave the palace she’s not all about the glitz and glam that comes with being a princess and that her royalty life style has but as a normal teenager who’s ready and excited about exploring the world. The movie is not all based upon romantic love but more so sisterly love. It also teaches the younger children watching to not be ashamed of who they are and to accept…

How do you think you help stop glaciers from melting? During the documentary I learned that glaciers are melting rapidly because of the rise in CO2 that might cause a rise in temperature. I also learned that chafing is when the ice that takes hundreds of years to form is breaking apart and melting. I also learned that the glaciers are melting rapidly every month. Chasing ice portrayed how fast we are causing this to happen, how this is effecting us For example: the excess water from melting glaciers is going to flood our precious Earth killing everyone in it, even miss Hortop.…

The Disney princesses seem to find love in the most magical ways, but that's not exactly how it is in the real world. They can find love by losing a shoe but if we lose a shoe, it gets stolen. This assumption makes children believe that love is easy to find and long-lasting. Everyone is bound to get a happily ever after even though in the real world it might not happen that way. Molly Driscoll is a writer for The Christian Science Monitor and she sees the love connection that happens in every Disney princess movie. She says, “Professor Thompson points particularly to "Frozen," which centers on sisters Elsa and Anna, as breaking the mold when it came to princesses. The movie includes poking fun at the idea of love at first sight ("You got engaged to someone you just met that day?" character Kristoff asks Princess Anna incredulously) and the climactic battle (spoilers ahead, but some young person in your life must have made you watch this movie by now) has the pivotal "act of true love" be one between two sisters, not a romantic couple.” It was so easy for Anna to fall in love and have a strong connection. It's not that easy in the real world sadly. Some people may get a happily ever after but it's not like that in all cases. In our world we have divorce, anger, and jealousy, which is something they lack in theirs. I have friends that even tell me that they wish true love like that really existed in the world because it's so uncommon. Disney shows children that true love exists and is easy to obtain, which affects children’s knowledge of life and…

I thought that The Hunger Games movie was overall an “ok” film with just the right amount of special affects and action sequences to complement a decent story. The director and producers stuck very close to the book as far as the story goes. This explains why the movie runs for over two hours. Although the events were very accurate, there were certain things that were not explained properly in the movie whichmovie, which changed its interpretation. One thing that bothered me was lack of explanation behind Katniss’s and Peeta’s relationship. I was fortunate enough have analyzed the book so I, or course, knew that the relationship started off as fake in the beginning and kindled into actuality. As a person watching the movie, you would think that Katniss simply fell in love with Peeta as time passed.…

    Jealousy Snow White

Few people can grow up within today's society without knowing the tale of Snow White. From the Grimm Brothers to Disney, it has been told and retold to children throughout the ages. However, what is often overlooked are the true meanings within the story. Fairytales typically have underlying messages that can be found between the lines, generally in terms of the key themes. Snow-White discusses the theme of jealousy, and shows how humans' obsessions of material can lead to their own downfall as well as the harm of others. When focusing on the relationship between Snow-White and her stepmother the Queen, it is evident that the jealousy inside the story results in a power struggle in which beauty and pride are seen as the basis for the stepmother’s envy towards Snow-White. “This gave the queen a great shock, and she became yellow and green with envy, from that hour her heart turned against Snow-White, and she hated her.”…
