Fulano Files Corruption

This comic above which was taken from The Fulano Files, (Reference: https://fulanofiles.blogspot.co.nz/2011/03/from-another-mexico-message-board.html) this represents the Mexican police force, which is already known for their corruption; whether it means they let illegal acts happen in the streets for a price (bribery), or if they say they will throw you in prison unless you pay them for “compensation”, this also happens vice-versa, gang members will tell them to accept the bribe or risk being killed. They have been known for their corruption all over the world and this comic sends a message, this message being bribery. The two items in hand back each other and you can infer what this means, this shows the officer is accepting a bribe and is pulling the guilty fine away, intending to throw it away. The Mexican Police force has been known for their corruption, also the same with their government who know of the bribery which goes on throughout the country. The bribery which gets accepted is said to be used for “protection” from the drug cartels and gang members for the police, it works as a “You scratch my back, I scratch yours” system. These go unnoticed most of the time or are ignored from higher powers who want Mexico to have a good name, but there have been incidents where this information has been leaked to the media which would tend to be denied by Mexico’s government or made sure not to be leaked into the Media which tends to work but not all the
These bribes tend to happen monthly, so within a year the Mexican Police force gets over 15 billion pesos which is equivalent to 1.25 Billion NZD. The Mexican police forces have said “Organized crime pays some 1.27 billion pesos a month to municipal police; because that’s the portion of the salary the government does not pay the officers so they can live with dignity.” The mayor of Mexico’s second city, Guadalajara has said “The creation of single police command per state will not solve the country’s public safety problems.” This is the government’s way of saying the problem will be hard to fix and most likely won’t be in the near future. Due to this corruption in the Mexican government and police force, gang members and drug traffickers who have the money are able to do almost whatever they want, as long as they pay the police for to look away. Nearly 30,000 people have killed by organized-crime groups since late 2006. It has been said that the police force tend to do this due to the low pay that comes with being an officer and also having no choice of accepting the bribe, at the risk of them getting killed.
