The imaginary invention I like the most is “Dreamaker Pillow”. The purpose of Dreamaker Pillow is to help people with insomnia by creating dreams. All you have to do to make a dream is downloading your favorite scenes from movies onto cell phone, taking selfies and sleeping with Dreamaker Pillow. This will make it easier to sleep. One thing I like about this pillow is that I can create my own dreams. Though it takes time to create dreams without given plots. But this pillow is definitely going to help me with my sleep problem.…

The nervous system is an extremely elaborate biological machine. Without question, the nervous system is a system so intricate and comprehensive that professionals in the field of medicine to this day do not have a “complete picture” of each of the working details of the human nervous system. Of these different mechanisms, perhaps the one most riddled with speculation, is the mechanism of sleep. In discussing regulatory process, sleep is perhaps one of the most essential to the healthy upkeep of the human nervous system. This process is such a necessary behavior that without it, the nervous system, and the overall health of the individual in question can become compromised (to the point of fatality) without it.…

And when you wake up you feel some much better than you did when you fell asleep. You feel like a whole new person like you can take on the world with just one hand. .. This is why I believe in napping throughout the day. When I say napping I don’t mean sleeping for 9 hours, I'm talking about a 2 hour nap. when you’re going through you daily crash and you need a little pick me up to carry you through the rest of your day. The secret to becoming more productive is not managing your time; it’s managing your energy. Taking a nap is like a fresh of breath air. It like a being God, you’ve risen from the dead and were born again. A nap is like moving from a harsh and cold winter to a beauty spring where the sun shines bright.…

Although taboo in Western culture, co-sleeping is making a comeback. After the retraction of previous statements against co-sleeping, Dr. Richard Ferber, child sleep guru, has now sided with a family’s decision to share a bed with their infants. Although the American Society of Pediatrics warns that sleeping with your infant can increase the risk of sudden infant death syndrome, the exact cause of SIDS is still unknown. The emotional benefits of sharing a bed with your baby can be enormous and some would argue that engaging in co-sleeping strengthens the bond between parent and child.…

There are “roughly 64 million insomniacs in the United States” (Chamberlin, 2008). People who suffer with insomnia often have a hard time “falling asleep, staying asleep, and/or waking up too early” (Dowdell & Huffman, 2014, p. 162). There are, however, ways to treat this disorder so the people who suffer with it can rest a little bit better at night. Jack Edinger, psychologist at Duke University, uses cognitive behavioral therapy as his main way to help treat his patients and get them back to sleeping normally. Through this therapy, he helps patients understand how much sleep they need and how they can become calm before going to sleep.…

The study explores dream recall frequency and dream content in children with Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder. (ADHD) There have been many sleep complaints about children and adults with ADHD. The hypothesis of dreaming is that when someone is awake if reflects what they will dream about. In studies it shows that adults and children with ADHD have dreams that correlate with the daily activities going on in their life. Children with ADHD had more negative, physical aggression towards the dreamer, because the children are not aware that they have ADHD and as a reaction of their behavior they are recipients of aggression from other children. Children with ADHD also had better dream recall due to the sleep disturbances found in ADHD children. They are able to remember their dreams better because it is still fresh in their memory from waking up at night.…

Popova discusses multiple points of sleep researcher Rosalind D. Cartwright’s book of sleep and dreaming. She found that the earlier the first REM (rapid eye movement) phase of sleep begins, the more severe the depression of the subject is. Moreover, when patients are awakened five minutes into the first REM, they are unable to recall their dreams. Observing the first REM cycle of sleeping can help physicians diagnose depression earlier in patients who have affected sleep…
