Furtim Symbolism
Have you ever felt like you have no time for yourself because you have been doing too much for others? Sound familiar? It does to me too. I am Solara, daughter of Luna and Sol. I live high up in the mountains with my husband, the God of Rest, named Morpheus, and my two little girls, Gia and Ria. My symbol is a group of seven different colored energy balls stacked on top of one another. They give off a variety of energy forms representing each day of the week. I was born out of the solar eclipse, I shine, and I will help you through my journey. I try my best to give you brightness and positivity.
My story starts when Furtim, one of my favorite and most common customers, asks me to do something, and I tell him that I don’t have time to help him.
“May I have a red ball of energy to help me fertilize my crops, so they will grow more successfully and faster”, Furtim asks.
“Sorry Furtim, I cannot help you at this moment, but

The one that upsets me the most is the one where he convinces the people that my family and I are going to enslave them, and eventually take over the Earth. That is so awful. We have no such plans because we are on Earth to help the people. Eventually they realize that I am doing too much for them, and they have gotten lazy. So, the people rebuild my house, which was burned during the protest, and they start doing their own work. They even help me sometimes! To make sure everything is on track and in order, I create a system that records when and what deeds I do for people, which I limit to once a month. I teach the people to train hard so they can be stronger and do more things on their own, so they don’t develop bad habits. Since the change, the people have gotten a lot more helpful and self-reliant. Everyone on Earth has changed his/her behavior in a positive manner. People realize that it feels good to work hard and achieve great

The hot sun was beating down on my neck as I was picking weeds in a field. The humidity is so thick you could cut it with a knife. The smell of grass was in the air. My soft hands were getting blistered. My skin had been browned as it was covered in dirt. I hated my parents for making me do this. A man comes over and asks me to make sure that I don’t miss any. This man was my grandfather. My parents had me dropped me off while they were at my sister's softball game. I was stuck working with my grandfather for the day. He had owned two houses right next to each other, each with a large lot that needed to be maintained. There was a lot of weeds to be picked. This scene happened all too often when I was younger. I did not like this at the time and hated my parents for making me do this work. But working with my grandfather taught me character and work ethic. He himself was a hard worker and wanted me to be like him. I did not understand this at the time and just did not want to be there. In the long run I learned a lot of valuable skills from my grandfather and he became one my most influential role models.…

Throughout this book there are very important quotes such as “We can all change the people around us by changing ourselves.” I love this quote because it’s so true. If you want to make a change you’re going to have to start with changing yourself. You can’t be a hypocrite when doing something such as calling the world out and making everyone feel guilty, which Colin does.…

"In pace requiescat" meaning may he rest in peace, in Italian. Is the last words of Montresor, from "The cask of Amontillado," which symbolizes victory in a sad sense. In this story there are only a few objects that conflict with the characters. For example, Montresor has contextual and universal symbolism. But Fortunato has only one noticeable symbolism, which is cultural. Both Montresor and Fortunato have symbols in the story that can show relationships with each other. They develop there thoughts in a few different symbols, like the insults from Fortunato, the stones in the catacombs and the wine.…

When they had settled, he reminded them of the fortress they were about to storm, reiterating what he had lately learned about Staithes fortifications and defences. “I am confident that we will force a breach, wreck the mill, and kill Staithes. When we are done, we will melt into the darkness and be home well before dawn. Each of us will play his part in teaching Staithes a lesson that every master will keep in his mind. This will be our greatest battle, and one that will do away with the need to fight further battles. This will be the war to end all wars. We will gain a splendid victory over the forces that curse us. We did not want this fight, but they have ignored our pleas. They have derided us, and ridiculed our aims to achieve peaceful and just solutions. They have enacted laws that make us criminals and say we are fit only for hanging. This battle is forced on us and not of our choosing. God knows we would rather have peace. But here we stand and can do no other. Right is on our side and God knows our cause is just, so none can resist…

Throughout her story, Perpetua receives many cryptic visions which she needs to decipher. All of the visions are laced with symbolic meanings, creating insight into her plight. For instance, after she has the vision of fighting with, and defeating the Egyptian, Perpetua comes to the definitive conclusion that she, “…should not fight with beasts but with the Devil; but I knew the victory to be mine” (Musurillo 73). The significance of her visions are all faith driven since she strongly believes the Lord is providing her with a path to follow. Another interesting symbolic moment involves the vision of seeing her deceased brother, Dinocrates. In her vision she recognizes that her brother is in trouble, almost as if his soul needs to be saved…
