G Grinch Doesn 'T Like Christmas'
As a Marxist, I believe the text undermines the true meaning of the story: “It could be, perhaps, that his shoes were too tight/It could be his head wasn’t screwed on just right”. This line is referencing that there must be a reason why the Grinch doesn’t like Christmas. The perception that everyone favours Christmas because that’s just the way it is, depicts a false consciousness, at the time.
