Gaea Monologue
I have not written for several years. My son has been birthed. We have given him the name of Deucalion. He has been in existence for almost two years. Gaea is pregnant with another child. I take my child out often with me into the forest. I also take lots of wire, and light devices which I have created from iron cable. These are my trojan horse into the cities.

Gaea worries for me when I go to new cities, as I am often gone for many days, sometimes several weeks. However, I always return, and for this I am thankful, for the greatest worry upon my mind is that I should die before sowing the seeds of the future. When I go, I leave small strings tied around trees, so I might find my way back home. I then get to work connecting the city to my string of lights, and in doing so connect my home to another forefront of oppression. It was not difficult to recruit them. They were more than willing to come. International 4-8818 told me that he had seen the light in the forest and knew that I was coming. He had returned to the tunnel to conduct his own experiments, and had found another box identical to mine with which he himself had found electricity, although he called it light magic, after fairy tales that were sometimes played in the City Theatre. He has told me of the great oppression forced upon him after my and Gaea's escape. He wished to escape, but had not known which way I had gone, and did not wish to be lost and alone in the uncharted forest. The 4 of us made our way back to my home, which is now their home as well, and I made temporary beds for them in the study, with the hopes of giving them their own homes

Title In the arid, vast desert, there lies a lonely log that’s inlaid its roots deep into the core of the Earth, searching for water of any kind. Over the years, the thick, green roots crept up and slowly broke through the soil, as if they were alive. As if they were suffocating and urging to escape the weight and darkness of the Earth. Skyrocketing up and begging to lean inward, the intertwined roots began to create a canopy, shielding the patch of ground from the sun.…
