Job 1
Procedures from the beginning of the job to the end
Visual check
• U6 meter metric meter • ECV not label • No signs of leak or spillage • Bonding is incorrect it is after the tee • Meter is fixed properly • Meter is correctly label • ECV excessively stiff • Pipe work is not correctly clipped • Case seals are in tack • No signs of soot or stains
Preliminary Practical Tasks
• I then get the manufacturers servicing and installation instructions book • Then i fill up my manometer, then level and ensure it to zero
Let By Testing
• I ensure the ECV is off • I made sure all appliance is in the off position • Then i get my stop watch to time • I then remove the test nipple screw and put it safe • I then let out the residual gas • Attach the manometer hose to the meter test nipple • manometer is then put on a level surface vertically • cooker lid is in the open position • Open ECV and allow the meniscus to rise to 10 mbar • I then close the ECV • Then time for 1 minute • There was no drop on the manometer so it was within the given range allowed 0.25 mbar
Tightness Testing
• All appliance of • Open ECV to 20 mbar • Close ECV • Then i time for 1 minute for stabilization • Then i time for another 2 minutes • Tightness was passed it was within the range of the maximum drop allowed (4 mbar)
Installation Volume
20 mm Lcs - 0.5m x 0.00046 (volume per meter) = 0.00023
15 mm Lcs - 2m x 0.00024 (volume per meter) = 0.00048
15 mm copper - 4.5 m x 0.00014 (volume per meter) = 0.0063
VP = 0.00023 + 0.00048 + 0.0063 = 0.00701
Installation volume of fittings (vf)
(VP x 0.1) 0.00701 x 0.1 = 0.000701
Total volume
( VP + VF ) = 0.000701 + 0.00701 = 0.007711 + (meter type volume) 0.008 = 0.015711
Total Installation volume is 0.015711
Purge volume
(VP + Vf x 1.5 + purge volume of meter) 0.000701 + 0.00701 =
