The day after your Point of View Paper is due, you must turn in the following portfolio, documenting your writing process.
Initial free-write (not read by teacher) on topic of your choice—15 points
Notes from focus group (points made by peers) on topic—5 points
Your reaction to notes from focus group—Agree/disagree, extension/ elaboration, more evidence from the novel, what it made you think about—15 points
List of core questions from focus group (at least five)—5 points
Notes on group members’ sources—5 points
Total: 45
Your Point of View Paper should develop a clear opinion (agree, disagree, qualify) on one of the core questions brainstormed by your group. You should use specific information from your source to support the point of view you establish. You should also use specific information from Gatsby to support your point of view. All evidence should be clearly and specifically related to your point of view. See rubric for more details.
