Murder. Kill. Slaughter. Death. Abortion. On average, a person that has committed murder will spend 15 plus years in jail. According to www.weasalzippers.us since abortions was legalized in 1973 almost 50 million babies have been legally murdered and not one of those women has served any time in prison. Mother Teresa once said "We must not be surprised when we hear of murders, killings, of wars, or of hatred...If a mother can kill her own child, what is left but for us to kill each other?” Some points I will be discussing today are, when does life begin, the manipulation of pro-abortionists and abortion providing doctors in our society, and the inconvenience and financial burden of having a child.
One question that is often asked is “when does life begin?” Depending on who you are, this answer will greatly differ. I will stick to the facts, in my opinion, the facts will speak for themselves. According to Keith L. Moore, writer of Essentials of Human Embryology, "Human development begins after the union of male and female gametes or germ cells during a process known as fertilization (conception).” 18 days after conception the heart begins to beat and the growing baby can suck its thumb, 40 days after conception brainwaves have been recorded, and at only eight weeks all body systems are present. Sounds like a human life to me and considering abortion is completely legal during the first trimester or first 12 weeks it also sounds like murder. It is best written in Dr. Suess’ Horton Hears a Who “A person is a person no matter how small.”
Pro-abortionists and abortion providing doctors are very manipulative when it comes to abortion in our society. Some professionals and doctors encourage frightened young women that abortion is safe, clean, and harmless. But in every procedure, the baby’s body is mutilated and torn apart limb from limb. Nothing about that sounds safe, clean, and definitely not harmless. Sounds like something from a horror movie, but that is truly what happens during an abortion. Also, pro-abortionists fail to communicate that many women die from complications of an abortion. Some of these complications include excessive bleeding from a lacerated cervix or uterus, from septic infections, or any number of possible problems that could arise from abortion surgery. It does not make sense that a mother or unborn baby should have to die. During my research I ran across a quote that I decided was one of my favorites, “Only half the patients go into an abortion clinic come out alive”, author unknown.
Raising a child is not easy, just ask any of our parents. It is true that having a baby and raising a child is hard and can be expensive. But a mom should not be allowed to kill him or her because raising a child is inconvenient and expensive. This makes no sense whatsoever. A child, no matter what age, can be expensive and at times inconvenient. But a parent cannot kill their teenage child, just because their clothes and food are expensive. Lord knows I wouldn’t be here if that was the case. In my opinion abortion should not be a form of birth control. I think that if a person is mature to step into a situation that could cause them to become pregnant then they should also be mature enough to either raise a baby or give it up for adoption, to parents that would be happy to love and raise a child that they otherwise would not be able to have. Abortion is not the answer.
President Ronald Reagan once said, “I’ve noticed that everyone who is ‘for’ abortion is already born.” In my opinion abortion is the same a murder. Life begins at conception and once a baby is conceived its life has begun and no one should have the right to take that life away. When a woman decides to have an abortion she not only kills an innocent baby, but she also puts her own life at risk. Babies don’t come with an owners-manual, they can be inconvenient at times and they are very expensive to raise. But murder? Not when there are so many couples that would love to have a baby of their own. Abortion does not play a part in life. It is murder.

The first argument and the most basic question on any discussion of abortion is whether the fetus, or unborn child, is a human person or not. On the pro-life side, people argue that the fetus is "a human within a human". In the context of biology, a fetus is “alive” as it grows in the mother’s womb by time to time due to the cell division. On the pro-choice side people tend to argue that a child can only be consider…

Can chasing an ideal blind us and prevent us from seeing the truth? Sometimes ideals can become such a big driving force in our life that they cause us to overlook the truth and ignore reality. Reality and ideals are contrasted through the goals in life of the characters Nick, Gatsby, and Daisy. Through contrasting ideals and the reality of a situation, F.Scott Fitzgerald suggests that chasing an ideal without recognizing the truth will not allow an individual to attain their goal because reality is needed to see the possibility of one’s dream.…

magine the 1920's have been reenacted, a time of swinging parties and when things just did not seem to matter as much as they do now. This may not seem as hard as it sounds. The Great Gatsby, by F. Scott Fitzgerald, paints a picture of what the time period was like. It was a time known as the "Jazz Age", where the economy was on an upswing and money was easy to be had. Prohibition was in affect, and bootlegging was a highly lucrative but shady business venture. Jay Gatsby most likely took part in bootlegging, which is how he accumulated his vast amount of money. Tom Buchanan on the other hand, acquired his wealthy status, by inheritance. He did not earn his money, but his family gave it to him. Tom Buchanan and Jay Gatsby each differ extremely much so on many views and situations that each of them came upon over the course of the novel.…

We live in a nation built on the idea of freedom, freedom of choice and freedom of expression, yet we are not free. The oppositions of society create restraints for women seeking abortions. The pro-choice view of abortion believes that every woman has the right to an abortion. In addition, women have full control to make decisions concerning their bodies. From this standpoint, it is believed that life does not begin until birth. Pro-choice activists do not encourage abortion in any way. Rather, they acknowledge the implications of an abortion and imply a certain flexibility depending on each case. Before 1973 abortion was illegal in this country forcing millions of women to obtain illegal abortions. Between 1946 and 1972 it is estimated that botched abortions resulted in the deaths of over 7,000 women nationwide.…

Jay Gatsby, born James "Jimmy" Gatz, is the fictional title character of F. Scott Fitzgerald's best known work, The Great Gatsby (1925). He despises the limitations of poverty so much that he drops out of St. Olaf College in Minnesota only a few weeks into his first semester. He later explains to narrator Nick Carraway that he could not bear working as a janitor to support himself through college any longer. Soon afterward, he meets Dan Cody, a copper tycoon who becomes his mentor and invites him to join his ten-year yacht trek from Girl Bay. Gatz begins going by the name Jay Gatsby and, over the next five years, learns the ways of the wealthy. Cody leaves Gatsby $25,000 in his will, but after his death, Cody's mistress cheats Gatsby out of the money. In 1917, during his training for the infantry in World War I, 27-year-old Gatsby meets and falls in love with 17-year-old Daisy Fay, who is everything he is not: rich and from a patrician Louisville family.…

Abortion is an issue lacking of humanity and moral value because of the various motives behind it. Abortion is the most extreme, permanent and devastatingly violent solution, for an unborn child. As said by former Surgeon General and a pediatrician Dr. C. Everett Koop, the most common reason for abortion is convenience. Only three to five percent of all abortions performed are for reasons of rape, incest, the possibility of a deformed child, or severe threat to the life of the mother. As Dr. Koop, has pointed out, the majority of partial birth abortions are not required by medical emergency. According to researchers at the Alan Guttmacher Institute, of those obtaining abortions in 1980, 30 percent were under age 20 and 79 percent were unmarried, which shows that abortions in the United States are most often sought as a "solution" to the problem of pregnancy outside of marriage. The major reason behind most of the abortions is mere inconvenience or unwantedness of the baby seems mean, insensitive and unreasonable.…
