Gatsby´s parties show how rich he is and tries to impress people how much money he has because
gatsby throw a party every weekend. For Example Jordan Baker says ‘And I like large parties. They’re so intimate. At small parties there isn’t any privacy.’ This quote means that the bigger the party everybody has fun. Although gatsby doesn’t attend his parties he watches his visitors but he waits for daisy to come.
In the story there is a green light at Daisy's dock which Gatsby starts at every night. For example, nick says ”Compare the great distance that had separated him from daisy it had seem near to her, almost touching her.” Nick means that when Gatsby is looking at the light he feels close to Daisy.
Through out the story Gatsby wants to win Daisy with his success. Gatsby tries to impress her with his large parties but she doesn't like them so Gatsby fires all of his servants. Then Gatsby tells Daisy that he loves her and to tell Tom that she never loved him but Daisy doesn't know what to do. She says ‘I love you now—isn’t that enough? I can’t help what’s past.’ meaning that Daisy just loves him. In Conclusion, the American Dream can just be a dream or you pull your mind to it and work for it. Gatsby try to impress Daisy with his parties and house but she wasn't interested.
