In this section, the political landscape will be briefly treated since we will return to this subject in more detail later (see page 23).
However, it is crucial to know that Brazil will face important stakes in the following years. Indeed, after welcoming the Pope Francis in July 2013 during the World
Youth Days of Rio, Brazil will host the World Cup next summer, then the Olympic
Games in 2016.
In the meantime, Dilma Rousseff – the ruling President – has to run a campaign for
her own re-election in October
