As a student and also a female working professional, who is of multi-cultural ethnic backgrounds, I have come across all of people from different aspects of lives. I have noticed that females’ interactions are quite different
from males whether at the workplace, school, in social gathering like religious services, and even around families and friends. This includes the communication uncertainty that arises in professional environment that has to do with our genders. I want to know what causes our reactions, whether it’s a positive or negative response and how to manage or prevent the generalizing of a certain gender. Things that I find interesting and intriguing in communication, and would like to know more about are things that evolves in our regular daily basis, such as: emotions, behavioral gene like (testosterone), both genders’ ethical values, leadership, work ethics, body language, and gesture, form of understanding and translating what is transmitted. We as human beings are different; the way to absorb, decode or give meanings to the messages or conversation that are being passed along to us are not always the same, and people of same gender do not necessarily share same perceptions.
Why is it that we are afraid of the unknown, yes, sometimes it justifiable but are we setting ourselves up for destruction while bringing the ones around us down because we do not see them as competitive, intelligent and capable because we of two different genders.
